Oline has been a disappointment, especially the tackles. There is an easy fix without spending in FA or high draft pick.

Move Guyton to RT and Smith to LT. Move Bass to LG. Or Move Beebe to LG and start Hoffman at C. Basically, make them play their natural positions instead of fitting square pegs into circles.

Focus draft and FA on defense. Boom! Problem solved. I should be GM.

It's not Madden

The only way to fix this oLine...is to get good tackles. We don't have them

P.s. it was asinine to take a freaking guard with such a high pick

Absolutely not. They have spent enough draft capital on the oline. They need to fix this internally with what they have or with free agents. They need the firsts for freak athetes on defense.

6 of the last 14 1sts. Probably the safest bet you can make is that they'll draft an OL with one of those 2 picks.

You don't ordinarily get defensive freaks with late 1st rounders. Probably our best bet to avoid drafting an OL is if they love one of the corners still on the board, but I don't see one that fits McClay's template late in the 1st atm.

You'd think after watching Guyton for 2 seasons everyone would realize why pretty much every team projected him to the Left side. He's a finesse player. He's gone from 9 sacks and something like 18 penalties as a rookie to 2 sacks a 7 penalties. Let's see if he continues to progress and finally learn to trust his athleticism.
Why would you move an all pro caliber guard out to be an average tackle?
They've spent 2 seasons developing Beebe to Center. That development has gone as bout as well as they could have hoped. Moving him now would just be silly.
Hoffman is unlikely to be here next season!

I wouldn't give up so quickly on Guyton.

I've seen linemen struggle early with both technique and their health and then come back to have great careers.

They could pick up additional competition for the line late in the draft or even budget free agency.

I think coaching is more relevant at that position.

How do all the other teams survive without all the number 1s on the offensive line? Oh well, let's use all the picks on offense again, and if Terrorboy can't win, we will always have the defense as an excuse.

They dont even have to be freaks I will just take some guys that can fill the hole and make a tackle at LB, corners and safeties who can actually cover people, who can play in space and can pass of guys correctly in zone coverage.

Obviously the only way is to use both 1st rounders on OL to have 5 first round OL.

It's the only way. Jerry can then demote the peasant 3rd round center
