He's getting up there. Of course, none of these stats are adjusted for era, and Roger Staubach is still the best QB in Cowboy history (and, if you adjust his stats for era, one of the top 5 QBs ever).

He easily has a chance to be #1 in all those categories.

Hopefully he gets more rings than Aikman too.

You could have just ended that sentence right there.

The greatest there ever was; the greatest there ever wil be.

Romo is a pleasure to watch, just #12.

As much as I love Aikman and what he accomplished, I enjoy watching Romo more. Romo excites me with his playmaking ability, his Jedi tricks, and, most of all, the way he plays with such youthful enjoyment of the game and a smile.

+100 I was a HUUUGE Aikman fan. But Tony has a magic that is even better.

i agree with all of this.. for some reason, as much as i liked Aikman, he was never one of my favorites on those 90s teams.. i loved Emmitt, Irvin, Moose, Novacek, Deion, Lett, Casillas and on and on, but Aikman just was never one of my favorites.. maybe cause he seemed to have no personality and seemed so serious all the time.. i was a teenager at the time, so the lack of personality might have been a big reason.. Romo is just so much fun to watch.. he does some amazing things and he just looks like he's loving it all so much..

those stats are great, Hostile.. i really think Romo has a chance to be at the very top of all of them by the time he's done..

I'd like to see INTs, Yards Per Pass Attempt, QB Rating, 300 Yd Passing Games added to that :)

I'm pretty young (only 24), but Aikman has the personality I prefer at quarterback. Nothing against Romo though, because he's my favorite player.

And more importantly Aikman was exactly the type of stoic leader the Cowboys needed during those superbowl runs. Something tells me, with the bunch we had back then, happy go lucky at QB wouldnt have cut it.

Vice Versa, I think Tony is a perfect fit for the types of players we have on this team now.

Romo could have the TD record in two years.

The yardage record is about four years away (if healthy)

The attempts/completions looks more like six years away (if healthy).

I would really like Romo to put up one of those career type years to gain him the respect he deserves as an individual player - like Peyton when he threw for 50 TDs and Brady back in 2007.

If RoyW screws his head on straight and Ogletree develops into Terry Glenn-lite and Miles continues his heroics, I could see it happening in 2010 or 2011. The one thing that has been holding him back is OL pass blocking, especially against the blitz. He also only had an upper echelon #2 WR during his first year in 2006 - darn near averaged 9 ypa.

The thing I'm most anxious for is to see what kind of number padding he will get when we refine the screen game that we are developing with Ogletree, Austin and Felix - all excel at running at. We need to get some more athletic OL but Kosier and Free are great at it. Thus far he has had to earn his yards the hard way with downfield throws under pressure.

That's a pretty tall order right there. I'd settle for three rings, just like Aikman. ;)

i agree, Aikman was perfect for those teams.. but it was just hard to love the guy, at least it was for me back then.. Emmitt was so talented and classy and was such a warrior, Irvin had so much heart and emotion, Moose had the great nickname, Deion was so flashy, Nate Newton was so funny, Haley was so mean, and Aikman was so.... boring. yeah, he was great, but he was just so bland.. again, i was 16 when we won the Super Bowl in 92.. i should've loved Aikman.. he was from a small town in Oklahoma like me, he played QB, which is what i always played, he played for my Sooners and for my Cowboys.. but i never really loved him like i did Emmitt and Irvin..

One thing that skews Romo's stats is showing he started in 2003....2006 would be more accurate (or just go by number of games started)

Well put. But I think that makes Tony the more entertaining qb...for lack of better terms.
