How Would You Grade Romo's Individual Perfomance This Year?

So now that Romo's season is officially over, how would you grade his individual performance for this year? Did he disappoint you, or surprise you this year? Was his performance about where you expected it to be? Use a 100 point scale if you grade him, because that way we could add up the average grade everyone put. Feel free to add your reasoning to your grade, it'd make for a lot better discussion.

Well I guess I'll go first. :D

Grade - 88 (B+)

Pros - Romo didn't really turn the ball over much this year, he was very conservative on his risk taking chances. He didn't have one game this year where he threw for more then 2 interceptions, and he only had one legit game where he threw for more than one. He was very efficient this year throwing for 31 touchdowns, and in the goal line he was superb as well with 14 touchdowns / 0 interceptions. Also he was really clutch this year, while in the 4th QTR alone he had a 105.6 QBRating which was good for 10 touchdowns / 4 interceptions. He had 3 GWD this year, 2 of which came on the road against divisional opponents in critical games. Also, at times this year he had no help from his surrounding cast, yet he found a way to win or keep the game within winnable distance.

Cons - Played too conservative at times. Didn't really throw the deep ball well this year, missed long TD passes he usually makes. Had a rough stretch in the middle of the year where his accuracy was off, even on shorter routes. His zip at times seemed down, and at times his accuracy was sporadic. Possibly could've been dealing with a back injury all year long, and now has to have back surgery for a herniated disk.

His performance was about where I expected it to be, though his lack of a deep ball and conservativeness shocked me some.

92, especially since it seems like he was dealing with an undisclosed injury for most the of the year. He has carried the team on his back with no defense, and no commitment to the running game.

Season of extremes. Horrible on 3rd down, outstanding in the red zone. Low yards per attempt, high TD%. Very little in the way of style points, but some gutsy performances. Most punts ever by an offense under his direction, but best year ever protecting the football and finishing off drives with touchdowns.

It all added up to his seventh straight top 10 season in pass rating. Unprecedented consistency for a Dallas QB, but with a defense that has been consistently just as bad as he is good.

Simply put Romo has done more than enough to give this team a chance to win ball games.

We need health and restocked roster to prevent the games form going down tot he last minute of the last game of the season.

When the Cowboys decide to do what the Broncos lucked into with Terrell Davis in 95 and got Elway some help. Romo with help can be successful.

The lesson of 2013 is that Romo and the worst statistical defence made of nobodies on the dline will not win games consistently.

B+ (A if it turns out he was playing through back issues all year)

He did plenty to get this team into the playoffs. Give him a defense and he already would have.

C to C+

Looking at his stats he had a really good year. But then watching his games i am not happy with his play.

- Like you already said he missed alot of long balls.
- He also was very inaccurate with his passes overall. Maybe because he was hampered by his bad back. But i triy to judge only by his performance and not by the reasons he eventually could not perform better.
- And i cannot deny that i think some of the bad game calls were because of him chosing another pay (audible).
- Often he did not seem to really care what happend on the field. His body language wasnt what i expect from someone leading a team throu adversity. But thats just subjective. I wasnt on the field with him. Maybe i am wrong on this one.

A-
31TDs and only 10INTs makes this easily his best season yet, while being injured. He did have some hickups like any QB though, but overall, a great season and should have been way more than enough to get this team into the playoffs.

Given the injuries and 3rd straight year with 30+ sacks, I say an A-..B+ or B at worst

15 games
31 TDs,
10 ints
98 rating
3 last minute game-winning drives on the road
Team was 5-0 in division
8-7 record with league's lowest rated defense

Could have been better, but very good given the big picture

People just cannot appreciate what Romo brings to this team.

I don't get it, either. I guess most people weren't paying attention during the Chutch, QCar, Testaverde, Bledsoe, Leaf, Wright era.
