Hunter Luepke - 8 Snaps

I really have no idea on why Jerry felt he needed to be extended and given a big raise. The guy is a jag.
I said the same thing in one of the threads. I like Luepke but he did not earn a raise at least with that much guaranteed for a guy that is role player and not a frontline FB/H-Back in the NFL. I do not blame the guy for signing because if I was him and the FO was dumb enough to throw that much at him who would not sign.

Someone in the game thread was saying Luepke was on the field quite a bit. I honestly didn’t even see him.

Did anyone watch and notice him do anything? Did he make a block?

Can we stop the this player or that player didn't get enough snaps this was a limited offensive game if you didn't notice there wasn't a lot of balls to go around CD lamb was the only one getting open even though he had 4 drops if you look at the game the tight ends were clamped There wasn't a lot of other people getting open so the targets were going to the guy who was open..

We want to see Liafu the linebacker get more snaps yes for some fans were ready to see Blue as well and maybe Sanders doesn't get much snaps and maybe Hunter in the next game plan will get more snaps but in this game Williams was doing his job and Sanders got a 49 yard run therefore they only use hunter as a fullback.

Happens and there's 17 games there'll be plenty of game plans to get other guys involved.....

Dallas had 8 games last season with 61 or fewer snaps last season. How was this a limited offensive game?

"They only use hunter as a fullback" calls into question the logic of signing him at all. There are only a handful of fullbacks in the entire league. Was there going to be a lot of competition for him on the open market?

Exactly what I said during the game. Dude has shown nothing, though he wasn't really given a chance but why sign him top 3 money for his position to barely play. You could just sign a super cheap FA FB for the same production. Jerry makes head scratching moves. The we go out and don't really play him. Heck he probably would have housed that run where sanders had a beautifully blocked play and he got hawked down by a 4.65 linebacker in Zack Baun. I rather go with Williams, Blue and have Lupeke there if needed at RB (if Williams goes down or we need pass blocking).

This just reinforces my believe that the timing of Bland's extension and Luepke's was deliberate and related to the Parsons trade.

This is the second year now we were led to believe Luepke would have a bigger roles in the offense only for him to be sidelined most of the time.

One game you're overreacting and again poor choice of words...

it wasn't deliberate. it was the same thing with Ferguson. they're just looking ahead and getting guys cheaper. but the way they're structured it's very team friendly and if they need to they can get out of the contracts,

but Hunter will have his other games he is the full back In this day and age fullbacks are not used that much and this is a cheap relative to his physician contract look at the way it's structured..

Only so many balls to go around and you don't force it just like George Pickens will get more opportunities in another game it will change from week to week the only thing that won't change is most of the balls will go to Lamb and they should go to Lamb because he was always open the drops aside he was open all night...

You guys gonna realize that you can't slice up the pie in games to get everybody involved it's just not possible you go with the game flow and what's working and what was working was Lamb was open all night and nobody else was there was very few opportunities the tight ends weren't open he tried to force the ball there a couple times he tried it deep to Pickens but for the most part he went to his primary read like they should have...Lamb

I still don't understand the extension. Hopefully, the reasoning will be revealed as the season unfolds.

You have to understand it it's not that big a chunk of money There doesn't mean to be an explanation or reasoning they felt they wanted to keep him around and they are but people worrying about his snaps and how much playing time he gets knowing all too well that there's only so many balls to go around and you go with the hot hand and that was Lamb..

Lamb was open all night he was the only one that was consistently open and outside of the drops he was our offense as usual that would be your primary read And I'm not gonna sit here and cry that her fullback didn't get in the game more just because he got a contract extension which wasn't even that big a deal..

Structured in a way that it can be an easy cut it's team friendly matter of fact they're doing some really good deals that are taken the next two years into account and after that They can let a lot of players go if they need to..

Yeah, that Ferguson deal will haunt us as well. He has got to catch that touchdown.
He needs to get open He's not Jason Witten where he can catch those tight passes one hit him in the head the other one it came in on him and he was sandwiched between two players in the contact kept his arms from being able to go up it wasn't illegal contact but he just really couldn't spot and grab the ball with bodies up against him he was bracketed.. I think he was more surprised being double covered like that the ball got there it was laser shot pinpoint dime but sometimes it'll get on a player he's not even realizing the balls going to him because he's double covered..

Maybe I'm thinking of a different play but that's the one I'm remembering I know one hit someone in a helmet and the other one he was bracketed tight..
