Yeah I agree I thought Dak's deal had voidable years in it as well. I don't recall whose option it was to void them and maybe it was either side could do it but I distinctly remember that language when the contract info came out.

I believe they are auto voids and used to spread cap only. It's just another tool to manipulate cap, not a commitment from the player.

Yes they are void years. People above were assuming two void years… Not sure why …4 is about what I expected.

And five years from now, assuming he’s still playing at a high enough level, they will sign him to another extension, and roll this extension’s four void years into the new contract. Some Money from this contract won’t be hitting the salary cap until the 2030s

This is a very aggressive contract. They truly believe in Hurts. There is virtually no doubt that he will be extended unless he totally crashes and burns.
