I'm going to do it next time he covers the Cowboys, Hos, I just want to see what people say? I guarantee you they don't even acknowledge the positive things he says every single time he covers our game.
Just for giggles add what Joe Buck says too. Yesterday he acknowledged that after the catch TO is not good, he's great. But somehow he was anti-Cowboys and rooting (not routing) for the Eagles.

Aikman screwed up, but it wasn't as if he had great choices. Bledsoe had T.O., Glenna and Witten on the field.

He has nothing to say but negative things.I think maybe if he talked good about the cowboys he may have had his booth rolled, and Joe Buck is right along with him bashing the boys.
Why can't he just be homer and admit it like Irvin does.He is so phoney anymore.
Aikman is a bad, bad man. I can't stand him. He doesn't say what I want him to say. Blah, blah, blah...

For the love of...

Will this crap ever end? Aikman is the BEST NFL analyst on television. If anyone wants game commentary about the Cowboy games without the sting of truth for 60 minutes, just tune in whenever Daryl Johnston is calling the game. He's good at not offending viewers with the T-R-U-T-H.

The rest of us would like for Aikman to continue being the best there is. Is that so hard to comprehend? Does anyone know how a mute button works? Maybe it's broken. If you adjust the volume control, you'll get the same results.

How about just unplugging the television? That'll work every time. I mean, for pete's sake, Aikman doesn't have to kiss people's arses to do a great job. Sheesh!

People need to visit Fantasy Island more often. Where's Mr. Roark? THE PLANE!!! THE PLANE!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I thought Troy was pretty balanced yesterday, much of his criticism was much deserved. Buck on the other hand was clearly routing for the Eagles.

I agree completely, Troy is always fair and impartial as is job. I think he's one of the best in the business, if not the best. I can't stand Joe Buck, I call him the little engine that couldn't.

I stated something like this in another thread.

You pick which scenario is more likely:

1. Cowboy homer gets really ticked off that one of their very own heroes of days gone by has the nerve to say some bad things about a team that does very bad things. Homer fan can not get over the fact that said hero does not throw only verbal boquets at Dallas all day long.

2. Cowboy hero of days gone by, HOFer, Ring of Honor, Super Bowl MVP, Cowboy legend, Pro Bowl player, All Pro player, Dallas citizen, perfectionist, and consumate professional turns broadcaster and hates on Dallas.

You be the judge as to which scenario is more likely.

he's still angry about being cut. that is compounded by trying too hard not to be a homer.

Yep you can see that he is just eaten up with anger. Man, millions of dollars, Nascar team owner, Fox #1 color analyst, married with children, ring of honor and hall of fame inductee, the guy is just obsessed with how he was released, especially since the Cowboys QB's, since they released him, have all done so well.

No kidding. If anything can validate a man's greatness how about the revolving door since his departure?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that, in every game Aikman broadcasts, we manage to lose the game through mental mistakes, missed assignments or penalties. Maybe this shows Aikman what kind of a team we are and he is reporting what he sees.

Amen brother, Amen. Bad coaching, bad quarterback play and a disappointing defense led by the most overrated player in the NFL. Cowboys fans can argue with me all they want but you will be doing it from your usual spot: on the couch during the postseason watching other teams play. Instead of winning 5 games a year, they now win 8. Great job Parcells. That's worth the $25 million your making. Everything Aikman said was right. Dallas is just another average 8-8 team so sit back and enjoy and keep telling yourself that it wasn't Roy Williams' fault for the 120th time in a row. The Cowboys played two good team this year and were outcoached and outplayed. That's a sign of a team that's going to make noise in the playoffs. Face it, the team isn't even close and if you don't want to take my word for it, the Colts will let you know in a couple of weeks. Also, anyone defending Bledsoe's play doesn't know very much about football. Let me know when he goes on the road and plays a big game against a good team without looking like a high school quarterback. I'll be waiting.

Wait, you sound like a Cowboys fan with an actual brain. Where did you come from? You might want to get out of here though because these homers will just close their eyes and tell you how great this team is. Hey, remember that great defense? Where did that go. Hey, remember hearing it wasn't Drew's fault because they had no running game? What happened to that? Remember the one where Roy Williams was one of the best safties in the NFL? Wait, that never happened. That's just a rumor based on where he was drafted and his big hits against the mighty Titans when the team is ahead by 21 points.

and i'm sick of people thinking that because aikman was our star qb for so long, he can't be objective and say what he thinks cause some random fan will throw a tantrum that aikman is bashing the boys.

look around after the game - there were a LOT of us fans bashing the team, the coaches, players - across the board. why is aikman excluded of this "right" to bash?

why can't fans realize this and stop whining when someone dares to say something that's not positive about our team?

Nope. He was getting pressured and pulled down on the play:

Thanks for posting the link. It was tighter than I remembered it, but the left side was open for a sprint to the endzone.

And to throw that pass on 3rd down when trailing by a field goal at home was about as bad a play as any Bledsoe made yesterday.

Thankfully, Aikman did not make a habit of those types of plays as Bledsoe seems to have done.

And boy did Smith miss on that blitz pickup. It also looked like Eric Williams fell down which allowed the blitzing linebacker to get through.

Troy's a good announcer, in part, because he doesn't gush about us every time he announces our games. It's called credibility.

Do I think he's a tad harsh on us at times? Yeah, I do. I really believe he's alert of the fact that people expect him to side with the Cowboys because of his loyalty to us. So, he naturally overcompensates and focuses on the negatives when maybe he doesn't have to.

But he's not bashing us or worshipping at McNabb's feet. McNabb played a great game. And we lost it on a bone-headed turnover.

What's Aikman supposed to say? McNabb got lucky throwing 354 yards and better send Bledsoe a thank-you card for getting him the win? Please. That hardly reflects what happened.

That game was a regular-season classic. The cliche of a heavyweight fight absolutely applied. So many weird things happened. But Philly ultimately made the plays and we didn't. Troy's announcing is going to reflect that.

Troy has often been critical of McNabb. Troy was quick to point out that other than McNabb yesterday that the rest of the Eagles offense and done nothing and that was because of the Cowboys defense.

Joe Buck... that loser has all my hatred

he's so anti-cowboys that it's sick.

one moment I remember from last year @ Washington was when they had just scored (again) and were cutting to a commercial and Buck goes "we're the Commanders and we're killing the cowboys, we're happy! hee heeee!"

or some crap like that

made me want to body slam him from the booth to the field
