I am not in to conspiracy theories, but what is up with officiating?

Conspiracy theories? I have one.

With viewership for NFL games down year over year, what are the chances the most popular franchise in the NFL would take the league by storm and win ten in a row (more coming?). With the franchise QB out. With a rookie QB. A rookie RB. A suspect defense. And a coaching staff known to be conservative and have trouble making adjustments. Especially coming off a 4-12 season the year before.

Yet. It's happening. LOL!!!

Be careful with your conspiracy theories. Fair to say they can cut both ways fairly easily.

Our receivers are getting mugged right infront of the refs, facemasks not getting called, getting body slammed to the ground, getting pushed, shoved, and even slapped in the helmet after the plays, ect.....

AND NO FLAGS:huh:

Seriously, did Jerry not let Blandino get lap dances in the party bus this year so this is payback?
The officiating has sucked for decades. The shame is it hasn't even got any better. Instant replay was supposed to fix a lot of their mistakes but somehow the NFL screwed that up and they still can't get the call right. I would like to think the officials do a good job overall but when you see obvious calls being missed or blown each and every week it really makes me shake my head. Don't even get me started on what is a completed catch. No one knows any more. And they wonder why ratings are down.

It is ridiculous. At least 4 or 5 blatant penalties that didn't get called. Then there's the holding penalties that get called against the Cowboys O-Line that aren't penalties. We've seen that a few times this year. Martin pancakes somebody and refs just can't recognize how good he is. And as Cowboys fans we can't say anything. We get called whiners and babies but we see these terrible calls way too much.

I think they should have every play being viewed (not just reviewed, but viewed continuously) by "camera refs". The technology is already in place for people at the NFL offices to view each play and be in constant contact with the head on-field ref. They don't need to stop the game down for re-view when these "camera refs" could already have viewed the play from a few angles in the time between plays.

If fans can easily see the replays and bad call between plays, then "experts" should be able to do it with all the camera angles at their disposal.

The reason they don't advance the process is because of the refs union. They fight every step of technology and already hate the replay system.

It ain't like Washington got all the calls. It's just bad officiating all the way around.

Yeah, it looked like they were making a concentrated effort to limit the flags. In an over-officious league this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but some of those non-calls were atrocious.

Exactly. I'm fine with letting DBs and WRs bump into each other going down the field. When you have DBs grabbing arms and jerseys, well, then I have an issue with it.

That Beasley no flag was particularly bad. There were two penalties there. A face mask and then a hand to the face.

But officiating is bad throughout the league. Every team deals with it.

Yeah this is true. It's not like we're being singled out. Although I do think there might be something to the speculation about the Zeke investigation being driven by the Maras & their pet enforcer at the NFL front office, I don't think that stretches to the field during the games We get a different crew every game, some crews are better than others. Every game you can see blown calls on both sides.

I know you are just making a point, but

Dallas was 12-4 in 2014 so its not like this came out of no where.

McFadden had a big year behind this offensive line last year, if not for Romo's injury Dallas would of won 10 plus games last year.

Some times it feels like the refs job is to keep games competitive, not manage the game.

I saw some serious jersey pulls by the Commanders offensive line, at least 3 were ridiculous and no flag. 53 pass attempts and no holding calls on any of them?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the competition committee gives these crews marching orders to give "the benefit of a doubt" to certain teams for various reasons,,, like keeping the game competitive.

Yup. And we' wouldn't have come close to landing Zeke with the 4th pick if we win 10+ games last season. Amazing how it all worked out! :D

I thought the holding call on Mayle on Zeke's would-be TD was a complete joke. But i agree the refs were a joke all game.

Thats not holding at all. It was a total joke in which the refs wanted to make the outcome of the game close.

There were more holding being done by the Commanders oline and none was called. Its total BS.

Agreed. He pancaked the guy at the POA with his hands within the chest area. Mayle appears to be a devastating blocker by the way. He can be a huge weapon against nickel defenses destroying CBs and Ss. If they can find an effective pass route or two for him, even better.

The weird thing about yesterday's game that kept bothering me was the refs consistently giving Washington an extra half yard to yard on the spots. But were marking us a half yard to yard less on spots. It seemed consistent throughout the game, and I've never really seen that happen.
Yes I was yelling at the TV about this too.

I think they should ween him into a TE. He can block pretty well and he's got the speed of a WR. I would love to have a TE like a Jordan Reid.

Other than that, they took another long run away from Zeke with a BS call.

being a ref isnt as easy as it looks, and they dont always have the right angle to see what we see on camera.
or they may not be looking at the area the fowl occurs when it happens.

They have no excuse whatsoever during an Eagles-Cardinals game.

Kind of reminds me of the Spurs landing Tim Duncan.

David Robinson goes down, they have an awful year than land arguably the best PF of all-time.

I lived in the Virgin Islands for 7 years from 1990-97, Duncan was big news there. Followed his career at Wake Forest. Fun fact: he wanted to be a swimmer for for the V.I. Olympic team like his sister, but a hurricane wiped out the pool so he switched to basketball. He played 2 years of high school ball for St. Dunstans then got the scholarship to Wake Forest. St. Dunstans subsequently ended their basketball program the year after Duncan left.

He comes out in the draft the year I returned home to Texas, and I think the Spurs have the fewest amount of balls in the lottery than any other team, yet they ended up pulling out the #1 pick. I turned to my Mom & said, 'The Spurs just won an NBA Championship. Don't know how many they'll win, but with Robinson and Duncan, they're gonna win at LEAST one."
