We are currently very delpleated in the receiving corps and it really doesn't look to me as if we are out there making attempts to bring individuals in before there are signed elsewhere.

I am also upset that the Cowboys have cut most of the locker room leadership Campbell, Key, Glover, and possibly Alen. No other player on the roster has been to the big dance or the playoffs and excude confidence from those experiences.

I am keeping my fingers crossed and just hoping things work out for the better of this team. I just see teams like the Giants, Eagles and Commanders making waves and us sitting on shore.

It's not so bad. Let's take a closer look at those released (and possible future released) players:

Campbell - 2nd TE behind Witten; he's aging, spent a chunk of time on the IL, and his blocking skills are on the decline (which last I check was why we signed him)

Keyshawn - 2nd starter next to Glenn; has great hands and is a great blocking WR but he'll be 34 this season and is very slow for a wideout

Glover - only 31 and a perennial Pro Bowler at DT, but $8 mil was a lot to pay a backup NT in the 3-4, which he wasn't suited for

Allen - he turns 35 in November, and his best years are long behind him

We still have several players with playoff experience (specifically playoff wins) in Bledsoe, Glenn (Terry and Aaron), Singleton, Ferguson, and Rivera, from the top of my head. We still have Ellis. And we have a nucleus of good, young, and homegrown Cowboys that should start stepping into those leadership roles: Roy, Witten, Ware, Newman, Canty, Spears, J.Jones, etc.

If we can possibly add a back-up blocking TE in FA, along with a Kicker, 1 WR, and 1 OLB, I think we'll be in good shape.

The WR replaces Key (or we take Key back), TE could possibly be Hannam from Seattle (who is supposed to come in for a visit), the Kicker (no idea, maybe Mare if he's released), and as for OLB, possibly McGinnest, who is also supposed to visit.

As for OT, I'm not sure there is anyone out there who is really any good. I think we may have to go via the Draft on this (unless Kosier is the man). Or maybe Fabini ends up a Cowboy if he checks out physically.

So, in the Draft, we pick up a FS, OT, probably 1 more LB, and probably another WR.

IF we can trade down with the Colts or maybe Pitts (who both need a RB), for example, we can easily pick up 4 first day picks.

To all you Hakuna Matata folks.........Twaddle!!!

Sbuscha has good reason to be concerned. We have taken steps backward so far since FA began. Our division competitors have not suffered the losses we have and some look to have improved thermselves relative to us.

It is hard to see much of a grand plan when we are so passive during this FA period (we were passive in 2004 and we all know how that year turned out). In particular, we have failed to get a kicker while watching one prospect after another leave the market.

Be afraid.....Be very afraid!

5 days into f.a. and the season is over. just throw in the towle. never mind the fact that other than kicker, no player the boys wanted has been signed, and that we still have to rest of f.a. and the draft.
we should be like the skins and sign us a safety for the highest contract in the nfl history, or pay 6 mil a year for a reciever with 37 catches. yep, thats how you get better just follow danny boys lead, he has done so well up there
