I cant stand this cowboys trend

Is it just me or does it seem like the past years, the cowboys at times have seasons where the offense is doing good but the defense is not right, and then as the defense finds a rhythm, the offense goes into a slump?

We can also vic versa this thing where seasons the defense was great out of the gate and the offense was slow to gain traction, only for the offense to pick up and the defense slows down or gets exposed as the season goes.

The offense has been showing signs of slowing down right around the time the cowboy are getting these player(s) back on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if the offense continued to slow while the defense picked up a little.

What gives? Why does it always have to be one without the other? Why cant the cowboys ever be an all around fully balanced team?

It's a trend I really cant stand
That's nothing new..... the same thing happened Romo's entire career.

There is a huge, clearly meaningful trend that has occurred in the NFL for the last 30 seasons: The winning owners of the last 30 Super Bowls all hired someone besides themselves to be their team’s GM.

In fact, among all NFL owners, there is only one owner who has not noticed nor respected this trend.
thats because his goals do not align with the fans.

if something doesnt add up, look at it from the angle it does line up.

..whatever it might be, just cant get over that hump.

Here’s why it’s not a proven trend this year. The defense hasn’t showed any signs of getting things together . Perhaps they will. We shall see

The defense hasn’t had a rhythm is several years. They go hand in hand. If the defense is playing bad, the offense is going to play bad when they get behind because the become 1 dimensional and teams can just tee off on the passing game.

Just a guess:
Roster construction.
We can't build a balanced team.

a few times under Garrett and it was beautiful to see.

When in recent years, say 10-15, have the Cowboys had a good defense?
Personally, I say never. It’s an illusion when you have a great pass rush that feasts against poor teams or when your offense stretches a lead, but those defenses were always exposed against the good teams in regular season and post season. When the games really mattered, the pass rush sputtered and the run defense was horrible.

That's on the coaches. When the opponent adapts to your play on film, you gotta make adjustments also.

Same thing with the offense. But overall I agree.

Jerry is reactive, not proactive. He doesn't care enough, and certainly doesn't have the ability, to build a complete team.

We stopped running the football, it’s hard when you’re behind, all the time and the defense is on the field forever, your offense doesn’t get to perform or even loosen up lol
You have to understand what’s really happening out there before you can get discussed about it. Fixing the defense will fix the offense.
We didn’t stop running the ball. The other teams stopped us from running the ball effectively. Chicago, Carolina, Denver and Arizona all stopped us from running the ball effectively over the last month or so.
This team is soft!!!
Philly slams the ball down your throat on 3rd and 1, we throw the ball, even though we have a 230lb QB and a strong trio of lineman( center and both guards ) to run the QB sneak.
Also, we have NO clue how to run the Tush Push! How much practice does it take to have or fullback right behind Dak to push him forward?

Its so funny as I was getting on the site this morning I was thinking the same thing. The last few games it seems that Dak has struggled a bit I was thinking watch the defense come out and play well and Dak lay an egg. lol
IM really hoping that Dak gets the rest needed and the defense improves enough to help this teams building.

Welcome to Jerryworld!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically, when we started winning Jerry started his weird drafting thing. Our D is suffering mightily from the picks of Trysten, Bossman, Schoonmaker, Mazi, and yes, even Overshown because he can't stay on the field.

Think about it, take those 5 picks and insert just solid players in there, and suddenly we have a middle of the pack D.

Been saying this for years. The FO is reactive. The Oline sucks spend a bunch of #1’s on the Oline. The defense sucks spend a whole draft on DB’s. Ect. That’s why next year every draft pick should not be on defense.
W/ a huge emphasis on S and LB.
