True, TruBlue. I had a gnawing feeling back when he fired the kicking coach that he might wish he hadn't done that and, sure enough, he still probably won't admit that he shouldn't have done that, but he shouldn't have anyway. Yeah, I know it wasn't the kicking coach missing any of those kicks, but maybe he was sort of a security blanket for the kickers. Cundiff seemed to lose whatever confidence he had this year and the less said about the others, the better.
If you're going to get rid of the kicking coach, you better have a pretty good self-confident kicker and you better be willing to pay him like a pro and respect him if the success of your close games rests on him. How can you expect success when you get some cheap imitation and browbeat him into a puddle of fear, doubt and insecurity when your game depends on him?
Get somebody good, pay him and respect him.
