so far I love this draft... Only exception is need for a WR but Jerry said he doeswn't have faith in any of the current WR prospects are going to contribute much for awhile, so....

I look for him to grab a WR in the mid rounds....

As faras all the crying about backup this and backup that, what do you want? Barber to be injured, or Terrence to retire?

You listen to all the hype about Felix not being able to be a full time back if need be, and I say bull. We are just trying, as a lot of teams are now, to establish a great 1-2 back running system so that the running game last throughout every game and late into the post season. We have that just as we needed to have now with Felix.

We have Jenkins who will only be a part time backup. He will be some nickel and dime CB as well as a special teams guy. Great pick. and thank you Jerry for not putting all your faith in PacMan.

The TE we got seems to be more athletic and versatile than what we had in Fasano. From what I been reading, Fasano has been recovering now from more shoulder injury problems as of late and that it is a lingering kind, so congratulations would go out to Jerry for getting a great pick in return for a guy that may not provide much more.

Choice, well I know nothing of this guy but alot of people are praising him and saying he is a great player. If so, that would relieve us of Tyson Thompson who has done nothing for this team and cannot come in to relieve anyone.

I like this draft, and for a team that needed very little has gotten a lot.

I have to agree with the OP. With the exception of WR, we've done pretty good for ourselves. Truth is, we need a veteran WR, not a rookie. Maybe something will still be worked out in this regard.

I dont understand all the whining. I think we've had a really great draft so far. I do think we'll pick up a WR later on. Look for DJ Hall or Adarius Bowman. I still think if Peyton Hillis is still on board later that he'll be wearing a star.

we're in "the mid rounds" now don't think it's wise to downplay our WR needs as we all saw what this O looked like last year when TO was hurt.

Hurd and Austin just ain't gonna cut it and if we never planed on drafting a WR then Jerry should have made more of an Effort in FA cause it's a desperate need at this point and 1 injury can end our season

Just because the first day of the draft is over doesn't mean we still cant trade for a vet.

I think this draft has been great. I feel MUCH better about the RB spot and the Secondary.

We also managed to get more ammo for next year.

Now our scouts will find some diamonds...

I also don't understand the WR whining...

Who the hell we gonna get that makes you feel better about the spot?

IMO there was not a receiver better than Crayton in this draft.

Glenn will still play this year, probably, and we got young wrs in Austin, Stanback, and Hurd.

I don't see the urgency?

If TO gets hurt, we are screwed regardless of what GLenn does or who we draft. The only way we are not, is if we trade for Ocho Cinco, The Legend, or Boldin.

Get over the WR spot already....:banghead:

If you dont like it go root for the Commanders or Lions. They have plenty of WR's. :banghead:

We hedged against Barber leaving next year and got two pretty good backs. I would have preferred Charles in the late 2nd as the complement but I guess we'll see how Felix works out. Choice was a good value pick in the 4th and will make the team and be a contributor.

Jenkins was BPA in the 1st and a good hedge against TNew's contract demands next year. Scandrick can hopefully make the team on STs and work on technique - perfect type of player to pick in the 5th round where you want players with upside but who can be immediate contributors on ST.

Would be happy if we can find a candidate at safety, WR, OLB or NT with our last pick and amongst the UDFAs.
