I don't think Romo was great vs. the Colts

I want to start by saying.. I really like Romo, and I believe he can take us to the playoffs.. He's the best QB we've had in a long time...

I know I will get flamed for this... but I don't believe he was that great this last game. He made some really great plays (specially clutch plays), but he also made several mistakes...

I believe he got very lucky in two plays.. the first one is an interception that was dropped by the saftey (went through his hands) and the other was the interception on the end zone that was called back due to a penalty. He also had that other interception...

Those were huge mistakes by the Colts! We're talking about a 3 INT game in this scenario... Maybe that's one more reason why Romo has "it"... even when he makes mistakes he gets lucky!

Maybe I'm totally wrong and I'm missing something.. but watching the game again on NFL replay, that's one of the things that stood out to me..

What do you guys think??

Without the hold the 2nd INT would not have happened. In fact it might have been a TD. So you're left with 2 bad plays. When's the last time we had a QB that only has 2 bad plays a game?

ice in his veins.

completion % in the 2nd half TOTALLY off the charts (20-21 last 2 games).

get a grip... the defense gave him the keys and he drove home a winner vs Indy

Maybe you're right... I thought the same thing when I saw the play the first time... but then Dungy was saying the penalty was a huge mistake for them, etc etc. But well... now we now Dungy is a crybaby!

By the way, I am not saying he had a bad game!! I'm saying he had a very good game, but got lucky on two critical plays... that's all...

did parcells say he saw "some warts" on tony?

well i've seen a steady parade of warts thru here since aikman retired. if you're waiting on perfection take a seat, brother. might as well get comfortable. 'cuz they'll bury you before it comes along.

You're right...you proabably will be flamed...the guy was 19-23 and his team knocked off a previously unbeaten...one of the errant throws you are referring to also happend to have a holding penalty on the receiver the ball was intended for.
Rarely does a QB go an entire game without an opposing player having a very good chance at intercepting a ball or two.....however that is why the are defensive players in most cases....they can't catch.

Luck is always a wash. In some games a QB gets lucky because of a penalty or a dropped INT. In other situations a QB gets unlucky because of dropped passes by his receivers.

the one where the safety dropped it right off his hands was the play where Flozell basically whiffed on blocking Freeney. Yes, El Romo has "it" that pick was dropped!

It makes up for one of TO's transgressions that hurt chances in two division games. It tends to all even out in the fairness department by season end.

1. Colt defense is good
2. You won't throw TDs every week
3. Brees threw for over 500 yards and lost

Romo did make some mistakes. And, yeah, he got lucky on the dropped INT. He rushed the throw because of the pressure coming at him.

But, as some posters said above, no quarterback will ever be perfect. That dropped INT won't be the last mistake Romo makes.

You even said that he made the clutch plays. To me, that's what I love about Romo. The offense struggled early. He threw a red zone pick. But the defense kept the team in the game and Romo ultimately settled down and did enough to win the game with those, as you put it, clutch throws.

In the end, I think that's what winning quarterbacks do.

I have friends of every conceivable team loyalty you can imagine and most of them are quite envious of Romo, particularly the Dolphin fans.

So basically, you're telling us that Romo wasn't perfect. That's amazing insight, please post more.

Yeah he was pretty bad until the 4th quarter where he took off. That is the kind of response to i would expect from a great QB to adversity.

The antibledsoe if you will.

Yes he was. For us, he was. We never saw the guy play. All the sudden....we got us a QB.
