I just expected more... not in an unrealistic way, just more when we beat teams like Phily, NY Giants and San Diego, and just about offensivly dominate every game (stat-wise, yards, first downs, time of possesion). Our defense started off not very good, but learned the 3-4 system pretty fast and are really playing very well. Even with the crappy kicker Cortez, we still should have won these games that we lost.
We let the Giants back into the OT game and we gave away the Commander game. We let SD stay in the game with a bunch of blown coverages. Our offense had to play catchup because of some more mistakes against the 49ers. We let Oakland stay slightly in front of us through out that game and had 3 chance from inside the 5-yard line to win. Of course, this Seattle game REALLY hurts. From stopping the Seahawks offense for almost the entire game and getting 2 turnovers inside the Seattle redzone (coming out of that with only 3 points!). From basically dominating the Seattle game until the very end (again, like the Skins game) and then losing LIKE THAT... so sad. From being a top team in the NFC (2nd place by record, which now Seattle is, only behind TB), we drop to last place in our division. The eaGALS and Giants had tough games at home and both won, in very close and lucky ways. All this hurts badly.
But basically, I just expected more from THIS 2005 Cowboys team with the way everything was coming together. These are some HUGE, HEART-BREAKING losses that will probably cost us a chance for the playoffs down the stretch.
Let's just hope that the Cowboys can beat the Cardinals and go into the bye week 5-3... that is all we can ask for now, then take it from there.
GO COWBOYS!!! (in a much somber mood)
