I feel sorry for Tony Romo

Yes I know he's young and the QB for the Cowboys. A multi-millonaire, single, etc.

But the reason I feel sorry for him is he changed. He changed into the player that so many fans and media wanted him to be. He became a QB that played it safe, but still had the winning play in him. As great as he has been in his short career, we saw his greatness mature this year into what a elite NFL QB is suppose to be.

I feel sorry for him because the offense line let him down. And it's not the first time. We can go back to 2007 against the Giants (almost a mirror) image of todays game minus the score. We can look at this years Denver game, the second Giants game, etc.

The lines struggles have been masked by Romo's effectiveness in scrambling and moving in the pocket. This line is not elite in the least bit.

Kosier can't handle big tackles.
Flozell can't handle speed rushers and is old and penalty prone
Colombo wasn't the same player coming back (like many of us said it was a mistake to sit Free)
Gurode might be the best center in the NFC blocking, but he is dumber then a mud fence! Parcells use to say this all the time! Snap the ball when someone gets in the neutral zone bonehead!!!
L Bigg, well he's big, and pulls really well, but seems to take plays off.

Jaws said it this week that the would lose because Romo masked our Olines shortcomings! He was right.

Anyway, it just sucks for Romo....Everyone harrased him to become this perfect QB and he did. It's too bad his Oline didn't help him out.

I think the problem with the Cowboys is that we continue to think passing is what wins in the NFL and continue to think Romo is Peyton.

We have a three-headed monster, and yet when we get to the 10 yard line we run trick plays.

How about running Jones, Choice, Barber? How about smashing it into the Vikings line? How about establishing dominance through the run game?

We played right into the Vikings pass rush. And that's because once Romo proved he could handle the four-game stretch where he was performing magnificently, we turned him loose.

Contrast the Jets.

A rookie quarterback, a strong running team, a strong defense.

The Jets relied on its running game and its defense and didn't let Sanchez mess it up. And when he had to he made plays.

Of course, Rex Ryan is a different coach than Wade Phillips and the Jets feed off his personality whereas the Cowboys feed for Wade's personality, which means becoming befuddled when things don't go our way.

But, hey, Wade has shown enough to return next year.

Expect more of the same.

Romo played great. His early stats were with high completions and good throws. He protected the ball with both hands but, the Vikings did make plays including stripping the ball.
He scrambled as well as could be expected but many times he had ZERO chance.
He took the sacks w/o throwing the ball up every time except on the INT where he made a really bad decision while running for his life. At that point and being a "losers go home" situation I'm sure he was thinking 'my O-Line is playing like **** and I've got to do something or it's over.'

I have no problems with Tony Romo. If anyone does consider how Kurt Warner fared a week after his 5 TD game with guys hitting him ever snap.
