I finally figured out why this doesn't shock me

The team has no fighter mentality. If the get up (10 to 14 pts) early on a team they have the talent to and scheme to keep most teams down. However, (like last year in philly) if we get down by 2 scores it is alomst always going to be a laugher.

Everyone starts messing up, nervous, turnover, game plans change, etc.

You just dont see us coming back like NO, Minn, Indy, NE

I don't know how you fix it and do think Minny was the better team, but until you can get punched in the mouth, get up and come right back, you likely won't be a championship team.

The team did this throughout some of 2007. Since then the offense melts down if they get punched.

i seem to side that it is a coaching mentality that starts it. But maybe it is the intangibles like Manning, Rivers, Brees, have

And no I don't blame this loss on Romo, but I dont see something from this team and I think the large deficit comeback is step 1. And that is mentality

You get sucked in by the ability jump out early (Philly, oakland, Wash, Sea, etc), even then, you stay glued to the game just hoping they don't let up and give it away.

However, after they go down 10-14 points, you truley know its over...

And i really am not a negative person, but I have seen it for 2+ years and other than Buffalo 2007, I can't remember another game like it

That said, I feel worse about this team than 2007 offseason. The Oline is weak, RW is and was a horrible move and if the coaches stay, their propensity to commit only to the old gaurd is antiquated and gaurantees a lack of development of talent (Colombo, Barber, RW, etc)

Maybe it helped having that extra week and playing at home? Just a thought.

Thats the doubt I had about cowboys D. Can it pick it up when O has a bad day? I didn't think it did, and sure enough. But to be fair, they got put in bad positions today, after they gave up the Big TD though. ANd as usually the case, whenever there is big play on Offense, for a TD, Newman constanly shows up somewhere in the picture these days.

Excuse...

Look at Arizona last year. 6th seed

Need more examples. If you win in the regular season you get homefield, you still have to play (2007)

LOL the whole fist fight analogy is cute and all but at the end of the day is meaningless.

The players got beat certainly but it was not for lack of trying. They kept coming back over and over again until it was out of reach into the fourth quarter.

There was no give by our players. The offensive playcalling on the other hand....

McLovin' has a valid point: some loudmouth on Minny pointed it out BEFORE the game too: might've been Allen: said they would get up early and see if we would fold. Well.....................

It doesnt shock anybody who has been a fan of this team for at least the last 13 years. We have become numb to disasters.

When you lose the starting left tackle, things will be messed up. Dallas should have sat Barber, he killed a few drives with his slowness!

Teams take on the personality of the Head Coach. Ours is a happy go lucky, overweight, no dicipline, cupcake so I am sadly not suprised that the team plays like it did today. I hoped that the players taking Brookins led could take charge and fill the void Wade leaves, but they could not. Sad.

Its funny you say that.

Apparently it's not just this Cowboys team. I was shocked, at halftime, to hear that Dallas had only ever won 1 game, in their history, where they had to come from behind by 14 or more points at halftime.

I think thats what they said anyway, and I don't know how accurate that is, but that's pretty wild to think that in all those years they've only come from behind to win a game where they were down by 14 or more at the half, one time.

Which is part of the panic...

I never said they "quit". In a fight, you can get knocked down. Its your choice to quit, continue and be scared, or get mad and come back harder.

Sweep to Barber, no shots down field, no throwing the ball away outside the tacklebox. Some of it was over matched, but if you think this team responds like Indy being down to Houston by 21, NO being down to Wash by 17, Minn being down to the bears by 17, then we are seeing 2 differnt things

The D actually played well.

Could be that we lost a game where the other team executed better and just outplayed us. This eventually happens to every team except the one that wins the Superbowl.

Other than a few bad play calls and not having the guts to go for it on fourth and one the Vikings were just the better team today. I certainly didn't see any quit in our players.

Was talking about last year....wasn't the NFC chamionship[ in Philly?
How about the Steelers team as a 6th seed in the Buses final year - 6th seed.

Either way those teams won on the road. You don't need a home playoff game to win other wise you just top seed to the SB.

Didn't realize you had no comprehension

Losing 21-17 is being out-executed.

Losing 34-3 is being whupped - on the field and on the sideline.
