Recently I've thought that Mr. Cuddly had no fire in his belly.

Now I am beginning to think that this guy is in DEEP denial.

He actually told the press yesterday that his team had already won a playoff game because the 'Boys had a bye.

The state of the Dallas Cowboys, which has lost two of its last three games and has scored 6 points, 20 points and 3 points in the last three games?

"I think we're fine" is the best that Mr. Cuddly can say.

The state of a team that has let journeymen QBs carve up the Dallas defense all year?

"I think we're fine."

What does Jerra "Mr Optimism" Jones think?
"It doesn't make any difference how many byes you have if you don't play your best football. We can play better."

Wade thinks the Cowboys are just fine.

I don't. And any rational Cowboy fan who has seen the past several games we're not fine.
Something is deeply wrong in the team.
Could be we peaked too early.
Could be Wade cannot motivate this team.
Could be that he's meddle and Jason has just given Mr. Cuddly enough rope to hang hisself.
Could be that Wade doesn't care any more, knowing that Jason Garrett, who is 10 times the coach he is, is waiting in the wings.
Could be that Wade doesn't have the guts to confront his team and just wants to be loved by his team. (Bad move)
Could be a number of things.

Whatever it is, I got a bad feeling about this sad sack of a coach.

If Wade gums it up in the first playoff game, I hope Jerra fires his big ash.

Honestly, before the regular season started,

BP left us after taking his own time to take a decision,

The list of HC candidates wasn't really spectacular.

We lost numerous offensive and defensive position coaches.

We had played very poorly in December, and there were questions about Romo's ability to handle the pressure, etc., etc.

We were worried that JJ was going to hire a "puppet" and we were going back to 5-11/6-10 seasons.

I can't be MORE EXCITED how this season has turned out thus far.

We're 13-3, have perhaps the BEST young QB in the game. Have one of the youngest teams in the NFL. Have two 1st rounders this coming Draft. And the only KEY position where we are old and don't have a suitable replacement is at WR. (We drafted Free to eventually take the LT spot, and we'll see how that works out.)

Things are GREAT.

What Wade says to the press and how/what he says to his team isn't something we will never know. I certainly doubt he was happy with our play against the Skins no matter what he publicly says.

We finished fifth in passer rating allowed, third in sacks, sixth in interceptions, fourth in touchdown percentage allowed, seventh in yards allowed per pass play, ninth in completion percentage allowed and fifth in lowest percentage of 20-yard passes allowed.

Yep, we got carved up alright.

It is nice that your repeating a nonsensical story from the Dallas media that is based on an out-of-context quote. What Jerry was stating and what Wade were stating were two totally different things. Jerry was simply saying that they could play better. If they don't, the bye means nothing. Wade implicitly said the same thing about performance, by stating rightfully that it is hard to have motivation when you really have nothing to play for. His statements regarding the bye revolved around the fact that people need to stop panicking, and to look at the whole picture.

Dallas already secured the bye, so the Commanders game didn't matter. Wade has already stated that they didn't go all out play-calling wise, simply because they may have to face the Commanders again. And it doesn't take a genius to understand, the Cowboys were running vanilla offense and defense against the Commanders. They rushed 4 all day, without any blitzes if I recall. Even the Carolina game, they put up close to 400 yards, even after losing T.O. To claim that they are suffering is not really true. This is not even taking into account that they went pretty much basic in their defense.

If you notice, whenever the journeyman QBs "carve us up" is only when we simply revert to running soft-zone. We do that for a reason. DId you notice how differently Wade approached the Green Bay game once Favre was out?

13-3 is great, but I would take 9-7 and trip to the Superbowl

I believe there is reason to be concerned.

Dallas basically abandoned the running game in December.

We weren't able to convert 3rd downs [12-51] and our O-Line didn't block well.

This can all be fixed.

Just run the ball.

I don't believe Jacques Reeves has anything to do with our running game.

We have no running game thats why we abandoned it.

We ran the ball well earlier in the year after, but that was after we had a substantial lead and teams were tired.
