Who cares about power rankings? If we are good enough we will play them again.

They're going to luck into the 1 seed, and everyone is fawning all over them. #2 in ESPN's power rankings (we're #4), suddenly this "unstoppable force" again.

Meanwhile, we beat them. At their house. Both teams at full strength. And it wasn't that close. But that seems all but forgotten now, and it can't matter in the standings because Green Bay had to choke in Buffalo and make it a 3 way tie at 12 wins.

If there's any justice in this world, then STL and SF will win on Sunday. The Cowboys deserve the bye.

I wish they wouldn't get the No. 1 seed because despite our victory, Seattle is a very tough place to play in.

I can't blame everyone for fawning over them, either, because they are the defending champs and their defense is dominating again, which takes the pressure off their offense. The Cowboys also would have the bye if we had taken care of business against Washington, so I don't know about deserving anything, I'm just glad we're in the race.

Yes...because they were 3-1 and had the #1 rush d and defense when we played them.

I agree with the sentiment that they have played a string of not so good qbs more than anything...

Yeah. What a coincidence that their "slumping" D faced Rodgers (who was shut down), Rivers, Manning (who was shut down until the very end), and Romo. I can't imagine what has changed between then and now...

I prefer our team to have the underdog role. It's been working out for them all season long.

I don't hate them, but I sure wouldn't mind if they have a couple of really bad days between now the end of January. Now their fans on the other hand, have become far more annoying, but people say Cowboys fans are annoying too, so perhaps I should be a little more understanding?

FWIW, the Seattle area isn't too bad. It's actually kinda pretty, despite all the weirdos walking around.

We played Seattle's d when they were in a slump. The d now is totally different.

Yeah, such a funk that they literally just beat the Packers and Broncos (And skins). Only team that scored more than 20 against them in those first 5 weeks, was SD and us....what a funk.

What a dumb excuse. lol Horrible post.

I know. Me so dumb. Seattle's d dominted these guys prior to the Dallas game...

SD - PRivers 3 tds, 0 ints, 124 QB rating.
Seattle d, 1 sack.

Denver - ESanders 149 yds.
Seattle d, 1 sack.

Wash - DJackson 157 yds.
Seattle d, 1 sack.

As for the Dallas game....
Seattle d, 1 sack.

Slump? They were 3-1 and beat Green Bay and Denver. They were also undefeated at home. If that's a slump then they must be in a real bad slump right now. They're 5-0 and have beaten the 3rd-string-QB Cardinals twice, the just-choked-the-playoffs-away Eagles, and the dysfunctional-family 49ers twice.

Seattle wasn't in a slump but they were not clicking yet, that was obvious. Also, Dallas wasn't clicking yet either :)

They haven't played a decent QB in weeks. Ask them how they feel about our oline. They wanted no part of it in the second half of that game. Murray made Sherman and Chancellor look silly while they rode him to the end zone like rag dolls.

Yep. I'm not impressed by Seattle this year.

They started the season off hot, beating Green Bay and Denver. Sure, they lost to San Diego, but if you've been watching football the past 5 years, you'd know if there's any team that can beat any team it's the Rivers-led Chargers. Plus, the game was on the road.

They weren't slumping when we played them. They were still considered the NFL favorites. We smacked them in the mouth so hard their ears were still ringing the next week when they let the Rams beat them. And that's when everyone forgot about the Seahawks.

Since then they've been 8-1 and climbed their way back into the top ranks of the NFL. But look at how they did it:

4 point win over Panthers
6 point win over Raiders
big win over Giants
loss to a decent Chiefs team
two wins over a weakened Cardinals team
two wins over a dysfunctional 49ers team
win over a self destructing Eagles team

I'm more worried about playing an explosive offensive team that can pick apart our defense. I still don't entirely trust our defense. They've surprised me a lot this year, but I still see periods where they remind me of last year's defense. I don't want to get into a shootout with a team. Our offense strives when it slows down the tempo and pounds the rock. We can lose if we get into a 50 point shootout. That's why I'm more afraid of the Packers. I'm not scared of any defense. Unlike the Broncos last year in the Super Bowl, our offense isn't one-dimensional. That's how we owned Seattle the first time we played them. Our O-line smacked them in the mouth and we let our running game and passing game do the rest. Seattle can own a finesse offense like Denver, but I think we have Seattle's number. Green Bay, on the other hand, can pick our defense apart. So can Denver and New England. Those are the only teams I can see beating us.

Bummer, I never realized Buffalo's win hurt us.

Yup, at the time I was pulling for Buffalo and then I realize it killed us because of the 3 way tie. Screw it.. we ill just take the hard road and beat everyone on our way to the super bowl. We know we can compete with any of those teams. The NFC will be represented in the super bowl by either Dallas, Seattle, or GB. All 3 of these teams are very close to each other.

My thoughts exactly. It's the teams with elite QBs that give me nightmares. We can beat them, but they're much more of a challenge, in my mind, than a team like Seattle. I know Wilson is a good QB, but if Seattle can't run the ball, they ain't going anywhere.

Seattle is playing pretty dang good and they're going to be confident, and hyped, and tough to beat at home.

But Dallas has already shown that they can do just that and I do believe that Dallas can do just that again.

If Dallas deserves a shot to be in the Superbowl then they need to be able to go into Seattle and beat them there again.

It is , and I am glad it is.

I am also glad they get the BYE and Home field advantage. That is exactly what we want...

Beat Det/GB, Then go back to the city of Seattle and make the 12th man STHU.
No excuses. No slumping at this time. etc etc.

Beat them in their sacred house. Again!!!!

Its going to be AWESOME....

Same with the 9ers back in the early 90's until Dallas shut their pie hole.

The way I see it is we need to be clicking on all cylinders to go into Seattle and win. How can we be clicking on all cylinders when Murray has a broken hand? We won't be and if you think the backups can carry the load in a game of that magnitude think again........
