My apologies in advanced if I'm posting this in the wrong section as it's my first post since joining this phenomenal site.
I seek the advice of my fellow Cowboy fans as I've tried every known tactic to end this frustrating weekly happening.
I love the Cowboys, I have since I was 10 years old and I used to watch Danny White QB for the Boys'. I also play golf with my crew at least weekly at a local course that is just too good of a price to pass up; $18.00 for 18 holes.
Unfortunately, the clubhouse guy that works there (nephew of the owner) is a big time Eagles fan and every time me and my boys walk in to pay our fees, the first line he drops when he sees me is:
"COWBOYS SUUUUUUUCK!!!"
He guffaws like a baboon after yelling this statement and always says he's just kidding. He knows quite a bit about the game and we've talked in the past like two normal guys would about the NFL games and games we've seen however, he screams this obcsentity (which is how I take it) each and every time he sees me and my crew when we initially show up to play a round.
Now, if it had only been a few times is one thing but, he's been doing it every week for the past THREE years! I kid you not nor do I exaggerate my dilemma.
At first, it was funny especially when I would shoot back something such as, "Come talk to me when your Eagles get a ring." Or, "Really? If the Cowboys suck and they have 5 rings and the Eagles have none, what does that say about the Eagles?"
He's just one of those guys that thinks it's always funny no matter how many times you tell the same joke over and over. It's borderline mental disorder with this guy and I've become accustomed to just ignoring the somewhat offensive battle cry he feels obligated to share with everyone within earshot.
You can imagine the brutal verbal beating I took last year when the Cowboys got their tails handed to them by the Eagles 44-6.
So I come to this forum in hopes of getting some sound advice on how to handle or NOT handle this situation.
I've thought about switching courses and even have played on different ones but the price is just too good to beat considering most courses around my area run in the $50 for 18 range.
This past year when the Cowboys beat the Eagles, I went into the clubhouse with a big smile on my face but my guy was no where to be seen. Almost like he KNEW I was going to say something to him so he decided to call in sick on that day fully knowing me and my crew would be coming in. (They have my tee time at least a week in advanced so he would know when I'm playing.)
So, in conclusion I'd like to thank you for reading my post and especially thank those that respond to my issue.
Go Cowboys! Let's get ring # 6!
