These two guys are in the wrong place but need a new surrouding to fulfill their potential. The numbers should match salary cap wise too.

We give up Bobby Carpetner(We all know the stack is against him here)

to the Jags for

Matt Jones(Just demoted to 3rd or 4th string with Reggie Williams)

Big guy with speed and most importantly getting younger at reciever.

These two guys need a change and it fits. Do you bite????

Why Blake?? As Gimmiethe ball said its defintly makes you think. But as to any trades, your have guys that like and dislike it. Nothing wrong with that. But, lets not kid ourselves, do you really think Carp can survive here??? Jones can defintly add some mismatches on the field. You have to get something for Carp now before he is released in the next season or two.

I like Carpenter personally, and injuries do happen - I'd like to think we can plug Carpenter in any hole if someone goes down, from outside to inside LB.

Plus, if we need a hot shot receiver, we have two 1st next year, I think we can get it done then.

Um, I had time to think more about that scenario after the head-injury medicine took aholt.
Hey, that is crazier than Pacman picked to go on the Space Shuttle with a bag of cash.

So we should give up a LB when we run a 3-4 that can tackle, cover and rush the passer. That can play ILB, OLB, or nickel DE. That IMO will be the best LB not named Ware on our roster by years end.

And then give him up for a circus freak, converted QB that is falling down the depth chart of a WR poor team.

Yep, brilliant idea.

I dont think so!

Matt Jones aint no WR in my opinion.

He is a good college QB catching passes in the NFL.

why is the stack against him? instant gratification society declare another holiday when i wasn't looking? he finally got on the field and is playing and is playing good enough to beat out james and others around him NOT named ware.

if someone is 4th string about to be cut, you wanna give up almost 2 years early on a 1st round pick to trade for a player you can likely claim off waivers or worse case - give up a 6th or 7th rounder for him?

kids -this is your brain...this is your brain on drugs....

I couldn't have said it better myself... unless I added a statement about this tread being short-bus ready. :D

Uh, no. Carpenter is a second stringer on regular downs, and a first stringer in the nickel. Jones is a third stringer, possibly 4th. Hurd and Austin are second string receivers. Why would you want to weaken the entire team with a move as you suggest? Witten/Fasano are top shelf tight ends. Jones isn't going to supplant either one of those guys.

I have high hopes for Carp.

IMO... the little action that he saw last year he was explosive and in the vicinity of the QB. A "playmaking" LB/DE hybrid or whatever you want to call him

I think we will see more "good stuff" from Carp this year.... partially because of getting more playing time and partially because of Wade.... an honorable mention to Bill for selecting him.

The kid is gonna be a solid player at the very least.
