I have never been to a TC before. i want to go to the one this year in SA. When is the best time to go.. weekdays, weekends? Do they put out a schedule? How do you get in, is it just show up or do you need tickets? Any information that you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You need to read what the coaches are saying in the PC......sometimes you can tell when they are having live action.....that is what I like most...seeing those big man hit.

We stayed downtown not far from the Alamodome. Believe the Red Roof Inn is very close (well within easy walking distance). We went to every practice for three days and all were in the Dome. Concession stands want ungodly amounts of money for everything from food to water, so if you are waiting outside for the doors to open in the afternoon, bring some bottles of water with you so you don't get heatstroke and wear a hat as well. You will have to drink anything you have before you get inside the dome as security will confiscate them at the door. Inside it AC and that great. A lot of players will hit the front of the stands after the various practices and sign the usual football helmuts, footballs, banners etc. All of it is sold within the Dome, or you can bring it with you and buy it at cheaper places. We had a great time. Food is pretty good along with river walk with loads of places to choose from. They will also have the traveling Cowboys trailer with the five superbowl trophys inside. Bottom line is you will have a great time. PS. They have a kickoff event the evening before training camp at the Dome. As I recall it (and the practices) were free to the public. The kickoff show had the bands etc, but make sure you take binoculars because the players (and cheerleaders) are very far away and the binocs will bring everything into where you can actually see the faces of the various players. Lastly, not sure where the players will be staying, but whatever Hotel it is will have security so tight you can't even think about getting inside. The best thing to do is sit outside where you can see the players when they are boarding the buses to go to practice. Guess thats it, but you will indeed have fun. Both my son and myself really enjoyed it. PS. We went the first year of Parcels rein, before they shifted to California for those few years.

They usually have practice in the morning and the afternoon. In san antonio in 03 parcells kept taking them to a high school field so they werent inside so you had to be careful to make sure the practice was at the crappy dome.

Other than that just stay downtown or park downtown and walk to the dome and then watch practice for free. No tickets or anything needed, just walk in and sit whereever.

In 03 there was not much hoopla, this year I expect a ton of hoopla and very big stuffy crowds. So plan ahead.

I am pretty sure they stayed at the Mariott last time. you cant miss it, its right there, all the media stayed there for the most part last time too. You will see some players wandering around at night dinner time mostly at the river walk and I know last time some guys were shopping in the mall.
