So excited by Tapper's potential. His measurables and the fact that he was used incorrectly in the wrong sceme. Maybe I am being too optimistic, but I say a huge bang for the buck type of draft pic.

Tapper I honestly think they got a good solid player in the 4th Round. It would not shock me
if hes a much much better player than Gregory or Lawrence will ever become. I think he will
be a player similar to Greg Ellis. This is just my opinion.

Possibly misused in college as a 3-4 DE and may benefit dramatically by switching to 4-3 end and play 1 gap. He's got the athletic ability and number supports that. But it will still be an adjustment.

Lawrence was winning just about every snap toward the end of 2015 vs run and pass. If Tapper's better, Tapper will be elite. I also think Lawrence has mental makeup to compete. A chip on his shoulder. We'll see if Tapper has that.

But definitely nice tools to work with and fits what the coaches want in DL. Though, if he ends up being better, probably ain't happening in '16 (unless RG and Lawrence get suspended some more, I guess).

Our need for a pass rush was way overblown. Is it a need? Yes, of course. But people are acting like we have zero pass rush because Gregory and Lawrence are going to miss the first four games. Never make a draft pick based on four games. Especially when all four are winnable with the pass rush we will/won't have those games.

Not to mention, rookie DE's usually take some time to make an impact. So Gregory should be much better this season, and Dodd/Ogbah probably wouldn't have helped a ton the first four games.

Once Gregory and Lawrence get back, we'll have a pass rush. Lawrence's light came on last year, and Gregory was a top 10 talent because of his pass rushing ability. Add Tapper, Collins, Crawford and Thornton to those two, and I think our pass rush will be just fine.

I can't believe how fast/quick he is for a big guy.

Crazy quickness for such a big dude.

We know he's a good talent but it's very difficult to know what exactly he is based on the defense he played in.

I can't remember a player we drafted in recent memory that was just used so wrong in college.

Even with both Lawrence and Gregory PLUS the team leading sacker in Greg Hardy, the Cowboys had little improvement in their dismal pass rush from 2014 to 2015. This is still a real need. A rookie pass rusher usually does take a year or two to acclimate, that is why I support re-signing Greg Hardy and signing still available and up and coming vets like Dominique Easley.

If Cowboys can swing a trade for Muhammed Wilkerson, even better. Hoping that Lawrence and Gregory's return after 4 games will automatically mean an improved pass rush compared to last year is too much like wishing to me. If it works GREAT, but prepare some plan B or C options for God's sake.

And this is coming for someone who likes the Tapper pick.
