I hope this offseason promotes a change in philosophy

I hope that Jerry has learned from the Ellis and Glenn situation and in the future whenever we have a player coming off the IR or offseason surgery we automatically start TC with them on PUP.

How long does a player have to stay on the PUP before they can activate him again?

or we do not pony up money until the guy proves he is healthy....terry glenns knee has to be stewed tomatoes at this point....we really need to stop counting on him, or hoping surgery is going to change much..we need to move on

Before the final roster a guy can come off PUP anytime...after we go to 53 they are out 6 weeks, with a 3 week window to put them on the 53 or IR.

Got it! That does sound like a good plan you suggested. That would allow a roster spot(s) to open up for another player(s) to see if he can make the team, right?

I think there is a huge misunderstanding of the PUP rules on here

the Cowboys could have still PUP listed Ellis (or Glenn) before the end of preseason and had them sit out the first 6 games...teams sometimes will place players on PUP when TC starts in order to save a roster spot until that player is ready to practice, and that player can then be activated at any time during TC/preseason...the difference betwen PUP then at at the end of preseason is if you PUP list the guy at the end of preseason, he must sit the start of the regular season for 6 games (I think its 6)...they didnt do this with Ellis because they felt like he'd be ready to play before then

and with the rules regarding active/inactives, it doesnt matter that much anyway...only 45 guys can be active anyway

A lot of the front office/roster decisions have been questionable this year.

It's very frustrating.

We have more than two WR's with really good potential.

We have been stacking up with LB'ers/DE's for years now.

Looks like a good job to me.

NOW its TIME for THE PLAYERS to STEP the FLOCK UP!!!

No, no, no!

The mantra, sadly, here and among Wade and his associates, is
We need them! They are leaders! Their past performance is indicative of what they will do this year! We have to be patient. Don't matter if they are long on the tooth and injured!
Too many man crushes on aged players, if you ax me.
We do have to play the players who can play
Those who cannot, get an injury settlement and get the heck out of the way.
