In my 30 plus years following the team, I've never wanted the season to start so bad.

I'm sick of the Romo bashing and I'm sick of the 9-7 3rd place predictions.

I always take the positive slant and the Cowboys are seldom as good as I think they'll be.

Those are facts and I acknowledge them.

With that said, I know I know football. I know and good player and a good team when I see one.

This is a very good team loaded with very good players.

I clearly remember the weak Cowboy teams of say 2000-2002 and 2004. Those teams had far more questions than answers.
They needed a ton of things to go their way and few injuries to even have a prayer to make the playoffs.

This is not one of those teams. Here's a good rule of thumb to gauge just how good a team is, or if it's a real contender.
How many teams can't the Cowboys beat?
How many teams would the Cowboys have a real hard time beating or perhaps shouldn't beat?

I just can't wait for this team to take the field and shut everyone up.:bang2:

I can relate my friend. You and I are definitely in the same boat. This team should be able to shut a lot of the critics up. We just need to stay healthy.

So then you have watched football for 30 years. Remember Wade's last year in Buffalo? They had a really good season and some real bad luck against Tennessee in the play offs. "The Music City Miracle". I'm in the belief that will be our type of season.

Now, why would you dump pessimism into an optimistic post? God, I hate that crap.

When you consider the way these last three seasons have ended prematurely, and the early dismissal of them this year as a contender...if this team doesn't respond, then they simply have no heart and we may as well blow up the roster.

It's time. It just HAS to be.

I wasn't alive in the 60's when this franchise suffered heartbreaking defeat after heartbreaking defeat. Nor was I alive in the early 80's when they lost 3 straight NFC title games. But I can't imagine that those instances were that much worse than what we've seen recently. And you know what? Those were the head and tail ends of a dynasty.

******, we're due. We're the damn Dallas Cowboys. I'm sick of making excuses and having everyone laugh at the failure. Give them legit reason to hate us again, not this crap.

If this team can just keep it's focus and stay healthy, they can be special...but it's gonna need to be a solid effort from everyone...from Phillips on down to the waterboys.

Is it training camp time yet?

Comments like that make me wish the season started yesterday. I think some of you make it a sport to make negative comments about our team.

It's a defense mechanism. They're attempting to protect themselves against disappointment by being overly pessimistic.

Me too man. I can't wait for this season to start and shut every one of those dumb *** analysts up. I'm so pumped for this season!!!

There are few things in life that I want in life. And Romo shutting all the doubters up is one of them.

We had that in Bill's final year against Seattle. Remember the muffed hold on the FG? We're due to go to the promise land.

Unfortunately, the 31 other teams in the league don't care if we're due.

Every player and every coach on this team, needs to ask themselves flat out, "how bad do I want to win the SB" and not "how big is my contract and how much money am I guaranteed".

Seriously, why be a Cowboys fan if you can't be positive about them? Go root for another team if you feel that way!!

The refs blowing the call is bad luck?

Even as a Skins fan I agree with the basic premises of this thread:

1) analysts - shut up
2) to my team - whoever it is - Please shut the analysts up
3) Man I am so ready for the football season to begin, I am syked!

Respect to your team, and I hope we see great football in our division this year.

Regardless of what anyone says no team is that much greater than the others.

In this league you can be 5-11 one year and 11-5 the next.

But at the beginning there is always a carry over from the previous season.

In the Cowboys case though it wont matter if we start 8-2, we will still suck in analysts eyes. Its all about December and January to a lot of people.

Our Division always has great football. Unparalleled. Consider this.

There have been 43 Super Bowls.

NFC East

Dallas...5-3
Washington...3-2
New York...3-1
Philadelphia...0-2

18 of the 43 have had NFC East representation. 11 of the 43 have had NFC East Super Bowl Champions.

NFC North

Chicago...1-1
Detroit...yeah right
Green Bay...3-1
Minnesota...0-4

12 representations & 4 Champions.

NFC South

Atlanta...0-1
Carolina...0-1
New Orleans...snicker
Tampa Bay...1-0

3 representations & 1 Champion.

NFC West

Arizona...0-1
San Francisco...5-0
St. Louis...1-2
Seattle...0-1

10 representations and 6 Champions.

AFC East

Buffalo...0-4
Miami...2-3
New England...3-3
New York...1-0

16 representations & 6 Champions.

AFC North

Baltimore...1-0
Cincinnati...0-2
Cleveland...goose egg
Pittsburgh...6-1

10 representations and 7 Champions.

AFC South

Houston...cough, cough
Indianapolis...2-1
Jacksonville...who?
Tennessee...0-1

4 representations & 2 Champions.

AFC West

Denver...2-4
Kansas City...1-1
Oakland...3-2
San Diego...0-1

13 representations & 6 Champions.

Only the AFC East comes close in sending teams to the big game, and no one comes close in Champions.

I was ready for this season to start up about 25 minutes after last season ended. I've only gotten more and more ready from about March on. I'm ready to get this under way and watch the Boys kick some butt.

Man, I keep forgetting that the Pats lost two Superbowls before the 2000's. That is a really awesome list Hos, thanks for posting it!

You're welcome. I like that more than 1/4 of the Champions are from the NFC East. Very telling IMO.
