Heard the "winner" "best player in football" "it factor" from Florida homers about Tebow.

Funny thing about Tebow, isnt he the only Heisman winning QB to win a playoff game?

Not sure......but, I believe Doug Flutie might have.....help me out Zoners?:)

For his sake he should stay through his junior year. For quarterbacks, games started in college still correlates with NFL success more than any other factor.

Ask Matt Barkley what he thinks about your take on this situation of staying another year!

He pretty much just threw moon balls at the Cubs pitcher and the tight end though, and he had the massive golder homer backing.

Yes, but, I have read bunches of your great reads theogt and know you are to smart to compare Brady Quinn to the resume of Johnny Football.......so I will assume you are tired right now sir.:laugh2:

hard to agree this point EXCEPT to say that most experts will take the player with the ball in their hands largest percentage of the game as having the best chance at the most impact....therefore, I would say Johnny Footbal....and you can keep the Clown ;-)

Matt Barkley hasn't played a snap in the NFL yet. I'm not saying he'd make more money that way, but it is statistically proven that the more starts the better for NFL success. In today's NFL you make your money on the second contract not the first one anyways.

Prospect? You could be right sir.

Russell was the best "prospect" several years ago.......how did that work out?

This kid is a winner........and the most talented player in all of football......not me saying it.....click on the link......great former players feel the same about this player.

Lol well you're obviously sold on him being a great nfl qb so I'm not gonna try to change your mind. But great college qb doesn't always equal great prob qb. I'm just not sure his game will translate to the nfl. But ill be rooting for him this season though.

Correct me if I am word but wasn't Barkley projected to go 1st round before he went back? So essentially losing millions of dollars to do so.

I am a BIG advocate for athletes leaving ASAP for the pro's for many reasons.

1) You can always finish your degree later
2) If your designated as a high pick or even first rounder, a minor slip up you will fall like a stone
3) The injury. Lattimore was fortunate San Fran had a lot of picks and the ability to let him continue to recover for another year

Oh and of course. What better way to learn than from the best coaches and athletes.

Step 1: Make it Pro
Step 2: Work your tail off, be a sponge and absorb all information
Step 3: Invest !

We are talking two different things here - best for the player is going out if you're going to be a top guy (the money) best for the players long term success if they stay in college (correlation with games started)

Agree on this. He has to float the ball when he passed deep as opposed to having a live NFL-quality arm. His short game and rushing ability are NFL caliber but his arm isn't there yet.

Crazy Cowboy, you are 110% correct on him. He is a cant miss kind of talent. I would give my second born for him to be the long term answer at QB for the Cowboys. Not like Tebow he can throw the ball with the best. He has the heart and the skill. I am not trashing Romo, he was fun to watch and cheer for when he first came on the scene. This guy has that same heart and under dog spirit but will take it to the next level. Some let their Romo love cloud their love for the team. This guy was born to wear the star and be the next great in a long line of greats that include Romo, Jerry, please do whatever it takes, make getting him priority number 1. I dont think we will be drafting high enough next year to take him with our pick. Make any trade neccessary to get it done. The Commanders did it for RG3. This guy is even more cant miss.

Whew....thanks for the support here for Johnny Football....was beginning to believe I was the only one seeing through the fog.

I remember Coach Ditka trading his entire draft for a #1 pick.....Zoners I am ready to do just that--really

Anything is easy to criticize in hindsight. Lots of people were convinced he was going to be the next great NFL quarterback.

Tebow set SEC passing records and in 2009 actually had a higher completion percentage and efficiency rating.

I honestly just see this as Texans getting hyped up about their local boy, nothing really wrong with that.

And you remember what a massive mistake it was?

Maybe Manziel can hire a rapper to be his agent and play for the league minimum too.

I am originally from Va......so no

It is the talent alone of this kid.

Look up the current SEC single season records and see what Johnny Football did with two less games then when Cam Newton set the records.

"Tank for Teddy" and "Get Clowned for Clowney"

I was skimming through the Jaguars forum a couple days ago and you wouldn't believe how often these mantras came up.
