I would love to get Clowney, but the hit in the Outback bowl has lifted him to mythical status. He was a very good player, but wasn't nearly as dominant as his reputation is now. Michigan's LT did a pretty good job on him most of the game, and so did a lot of SEC LTs.

He wasn't nearly as dominant as Nick Fairley was 2 years ago, but then he's only a sophomore.

All this noise acting like he's the greatest prospect of the last decade isn't justified. Yet.

That's a garbage comparison.

I don't think Manziel is all that either, but he's a far better prospect than Crouch. He's infintely a better passer. Dilfer thinks he's a 1st rounder, while I don't think anyone ever thought Crouch could be anything in the NFL other than a db or receiver.

I hope the cowboys stay far away from this guy.

This guy is nothing but trouble waiting to happen for a team.

He is a celebrity QB with a me first attitude IMO.

He has IT alright...if you add SH in front.

NO THANKS.

This place and New York would be the last place he should go.

I don't see much in terms of Crouch when I watch Manziel, but in watching the purely passing highlights I see a whole lot of Colt McCoy

Johnny Football will be a monumental bust in the NFL. One day, that nickname will be synonymous with "bust".

"We thought he was going to be great, but he went 'Johnny Football' on us when he got here."

He's too small, too short, not a good enough passer, and the NFL is about to figure out this high-school read-option nonsense.

Lucky if he is even drafted in the first round IMO.

I see bust written all over him.

Bridgewater > Manziel

Both will be gone along with Clowney before the Cowboys pick

So uh...

I was going to say, when he started out I assume that he meant Clowney.
Manziel? really? I'm a fan, but come on.

Anyway, the idea of tanking with a team that has 8-9 previous or future Pro Bowlers is spineless and totally embarrassing.

This current team still has a pretty glaring and, imo, fatal flaw at Oline. But there's no need they can't be in the hunt for a playoff spot in this crazy division. And if they add a piece or two (please!) via the FA market, this group could cause a little bit more damage than many expect.

Just watch.

Andrew Luck will take off this year, and RG3 will get hurt again, and Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick will come back down to earth...or also get hurt.

Suddenly, this high school offense won't look so appealing, and Manziel will fall off as a pro prospect.

Besides, if the NFL becomes a read-option league, I'm done with it. Not interested in watching high school football on Sundays.

Manziel is nothing like Eric Freaking Crouch... Other than skin color. That's about like saying Russell Wilson and Denard Robinson are the same guy.

And he absolutely has "it". People who don't think so must not have watched him play last year.

As long as he continues to improve his passing and his attitude is okay, there's absolutely no reason he won't succeed. He should be at least as good as Russell Wilson.

Wouldn't surprise me if Johnny takes a step backwards this year.
His OL won't be quite as good, with only 1 first rounder there, and teams will now game-plan for him.

It's a bit early too early bet the farm on this guy, and he isn't as strong or athletic (yet) as RGIII.

I hate to say this, but after losing for so long what is one more year? My Cowboys have got me kind of numb to losing now-a-days.

Anyhow, I almost could put up with one more BAD season if it puts us in position to draft the most exciting player I have ever seen.

I watched this player two years in High School live and then enjoyed last year as he won the big trophy.

This kid is special......if you do not believe me.....click the link below:

I'm with you all the way on Johnny, though to be fair as my kid and money go to A&M I am an Aggie homer

McCoy was a stud college quarterback, but much like Applewhite in that he isn't a physically gifted athlete. I like the change up of his game from Vince Young's. I actually think Colt has a future in the NFL, whereas Vince will have trouble finding teams to tryout for.

I think everybody needs to come down to reality just a bit. Johnny Football is a great College Story that is being shielded from what will eventually come out on him. That, together with his physical limitation are going to kill any chance at being drafted high in the NFL IMO. I don't see him as a great NFL QB but hey, anything is possible. Clowney is going to go very high and we are not in the ball game for that. We would have had to trade for some high powered future picks in order for that to happen. We would have had to put ourselves in position from a cap standpoint to move big contracts and we didn't do that. Instead, we worsened our cap situation by restructuring some players we probably shouldn't have and signing Romo to a huge deal. We aren't going to be getting Clowney.

Next year, it's very likely that we are going to be looking for an OT with our first pick. The cap situation almost dictates that for us. I think everybody should warm up to the fact that we are going to be drafting for cap relief next year and not necessarily player impact.

This is why I didn't want the Romo extension.

Johnny Football would have brought so much life into this organization.

And just how bad would the Cowboys have had to be to get him? I don't subscribe to trading away multiple 1st round picks to get one player in a draft. There is no guarantee the pick will make it. We don't know if RGIII can take another knee operation. If RGIII is forced to be a pocket passer, just how good is he? Andrew Luck fell to the Colts because the Colts were the worst team the prior year. Do you really want the cowboys to be the worst team in the league?
