Fired up the recorded version of the Bears game and during the intros, they actually give the PFF ranking of each player underneath their names. Like it was important or official.

That is so frightening on so many levels.

Collinsworth has been a majority owner of PFF since 2014.

Thank you.

I absolutely hated that.

I like how at least one of our starters (was it Chaz?) had no rating. He's like the guy that got added to Madden during some post-launch update and they didn't even have time to give him a numerical rating.

Odds are that the entire DL could basically have the same N/A score.

You know, it shouldn't have bothered you he did not have a PFF score.

I like Collinsworth, and I like PFF's raw data, but their subjective player grading system needs to be reworked.

I don't think Collinsworth, PFF, or NBC cares though.
Nor does NBC care if they air Florio's gossip as news.

That is part of the general point.

Except I am weird. Some of you people get upset about the PFT gossip.

I get way more upset by some goober "grading film" and how that said goober influences how people think about what they see or worse, just substitute for it because they don't bother doing it themselves.

All in all, things like PFF start getting referred to as credible "statistics" pretty soon. Even for positions that are impossible to "grade".

And that leads to even more idiocy.

Yeah I noticed that. ONly thing stood out was Byron Jones and his #4th ranking. No one on this team came close to ranking even top 20 except I think Fredericks and Martin.

And even if the person doing the grading completely understands what he sees, the system is so bad that an 80-yard bomb is worth no more than 2 points, while 8 10-yard passes could be worth 4 points or more.

Isn't that why you can't buy memberships anymore?

They wanted to make it exclusive to sports networks and broadcasts...
