I keep hearing how we will beat up their secondary

BUT...

I remember hearing that a few times last year and we came away looking bad in that regard.

Will Garrett and his GCO remedy this? Did Parcells NOT pull the trigger enough when the matchup was heavy in our favor?

I think Dallas will try and run a blanced attack. I think if we can run on NY we force their safeties up and that would open up the big plays down field.

The problem last year was that the Giants were able to generate pressure on the QB which either didn't give our weapons time to exploit their secondary or caused the QB to make bad throws in which their secondary capitalized off of. I think our O-line has come a long way since then to give Romo and our weapons more time to attack that weak secondary.

True... but that wasnt always the case against other teams. We just didnt attack. I am almost positive that we wont take same approach this year.

I hope.

They brought the noise last year, and neither one of our QBs could handle it. If Garrett can fix that, or give Romo a little more time, it will be exciting.

I don't think you will see Dallas throwing 40 or more passes in this game unless we are losing.

Only problem is Garrett doesn't play O-line;)

Seriously though I hope our line gets it together or does better in the run blocking dept..

Wade already said that we'd need to stay out of long yardage by running the ball and using a controlled passing game. So I expect T.O. to get some quick slants and Witten (and maybe Fasano) to get some short passes, hopefully if Kiwanuka is at LB.

In other words, I don't think we do a lot of seven-step drops. We'll try to get rid of it quickly to combat their rush. (Some nice screens to Julius would work, too.)

Or coach it. Maybe I should have said Sparano - Garrett might be able to find ways to help Romo get rid of the ball quicker. Whether things weren't there last year, or both our QBs just had bad days, they couldn't get the ball out either time against the Giants, or Eagles for that matter. They came after us hard and we couldn't handle it. I hope the moves we made change that, because the Giants still have some horses up front - I think Robbins has been playing well.

I agree but I do think if we are having some success running the ball it will lead to some big plays down field as the safeties start moving up for run support

The problem was when the pressure came right through the RG. Romo wasn't able to step up in the pocket to avoid the outside rush.

I heard Brad Shamm say on KTCK that he talked to some NFL sources that he trusts and he there is doubt around the league how Dallas' OL can handle quicker defensive fronts. We're big, but slow. Houston's front four appeared to have given us some trouble in that area. I fully expect that the Giants are going to do a lot of twists, stunts and shooting gaps to test that. We should be able to take advantage of that with some big plays in the running game. It's up to Julius and MB3 to turn those natural running lanes into big plays. Especially Julius, since the big play is supposedly his "specialty". If we can't get a couple of 15+ yard runs to hold them at bay, we might be in trouble.

They all have problems when defenders are coming right up the middle every QB does and Romo is no different. I will say Romo has seen a lot more pressure up the middle than Brady, Peyton or any of the other QB's you named. Which is why Dallas brought in Davis to help stop these jail breaks coming up our gut.

I disagree. I think Gurode had a very good season last year and Kosier while was not dominate he did a solid job up front. The other gaurd spot in my opinion was a main cause for the break down up front.
