All the attention has rightfully been on the big defensive line pieces but shouldn't we be looking at some OL pieces as well?

We are. Zack Martin might be a pick on May 8th.

I can see Martin being a good possibility. Especially if Allen and / or Spencer is signed.
I can see Mike Evans too if he drops.
Most likely, I see a trade down again.

Nothing wrong with that idea this year, prolly the deepest draft I've ever seen.

Of course. You should always look at OL pieces, because it's hard to win when the QB is on the ground and your RB has nowhere to run.

Jerral has expressed interest in taking an OLineman in the 1st this year multiple times. Apparently he found a new position he favors (like those juicy TEs). Maybe, in some drunken hallucination, he had a flashback to the 90's. He realizes that Larry Allen, Nate Newton and others paved the way to three Super Bowl titles.

Or he realizes has a Brokeback Quarterback and wants to give him protection.

But if someone like Martin or Lewan become Cowboys on the 1st day of the NFL Draft, we would have no reason to be upset.

Dallas has a bunch of picks.
Everyone always discusses the 1st pick, but as you already know, the really good drafts are made after that.
I'd be fairly shocked if Dallas doesn't take at least one olineman and probably two.

I really like the kid TE Niklas from ND personally - if we trade down - very athletic and a physical beast. Could really be a blocking issue for opposing teams. Still very young and still learning. He is going to be a match-up nightmare at the next level. Gronk 2.0 IMO.

Ducking now due to the TE mention..........................

I am still hoping we do not trade anywhere and Donald is there. We have to jump all over him.

I still hope they bring in some kids in the later rounds at G and RT.

It would be really helpful if we could get one more year out of Brian Waters. It would save us a lot of time/resources, as well as help push Leary if we do end up drafting a guard. We'll also need to draft a tackle this year or next year to help replace Free.

My ideal situation would be to re-sign Brian Waters, draft a G/T in any round between 1-3 both this year and next year.

I expect them to draft an OL and WR. Both positions are deep in this draft.

Always need O line depth. The problem is you have a passable o line right now, for starters at least. D line without upgrades gives us no chance right now. I would expect a couple mid to late round selections on the o line, but we HAVE to get one more impact D line player either DT or DE.

If Donald and Jerrigan are gone, then I believe you take the BPA and that seems to be Martin.

He can be slipped in at guard and be your right tackle in the future.

I am not interested in trading down. That seems to be the same thinking every year, and usually if followed by a comment that Dallas can get something ridiculous in a trade down.

Dallas got their pockets picked last year by the 9ers. Love Freddie but not enough came back this way for that trade.

We're scraping together funds just to replace the two defensive starters we've lost. There's nothing left for a serious OL upgrade.

It may come in the draft. It may not. I just hope they're open minded to it. Adding a third stud piece there with Tyron and Frederick would be significant.

The Cowboys will also have some more $$ after June 1st to resign Waters if we want.

I agree but some of the OL out there would not be high dollar and would be a little better than the Chris Degrees or Degrees of our current roster.

Where did this info come from? It sounds like something parroted by the DFW mediots w/o anything of substance to it.

I'd like to see em use a mid pick and bring in Richie Incognito to warm up the spot while he bulks up and learns. That would solidify the line till 016.

The trade worked out pretty very good. After we got fleeced a bit on the trade the picks of Frederick and Williams more than made up for any loss on the maneuver.
