I'm waiting for the article or comment about how Romo is clicking with Williams. The only things i have read says he has been open alot during 7 on 7 drills and Romo throws elswhere, well this has to change and not just now, but right now. I know there are some fans who didn't like this move but I loved it. I think Roy is the kind of receiver that can help move chains as well as score. He is just as happy getting a first down as a touch down, the last receiver like that on Dallas was Michael Irvin. i think Williams can bring that kind of fire to the offense because from what I've seen of him he stays fired up during games. I could be wrong but he could be just what Romo needs, a receiver who is vocal enough to keep everyone playing to their potential but mindful of who's huddle it is. I don't know why he didn't have 1000 yard seasons the past few years but he never seemed to dog it regardless of being on an annually losing team. Personally as much as I liked T.O. I'm glad he is gone, say what you want the but negative aura that surrounds him when unhappy of feeling slighted could have probably been cut with a knife. Some may know what I mean and some may not but I think roy will pay off dividends if Romo lets him. PEACE!!!

I heard early on that Romo and Roy were clicking, but the latest reviews weren't so good. As far as 1000 yard seasons go, Roy had some injuries in Detroit (and in Dallas last year). It's hard to build stats when you can't even take the field. Hopefully Roy will remain healthy this year (and throughout his Dallas days). If so, Romo will undoubtedly find him. You have to remember that Romo has a lot of weapons at his disposal. No single player will always be the target, not even Witten. It's a great problem to have.

Way Way to early for this post.
It's everywhere, in every team's forums. In training camp, it's either "this unit is so good!" or "this unit sucks so bad!" depending on whether you're an optimist or pessimist.

I read Roy is getting open, just Romo for some reason does not look his way. Im not pushing the panic button just yet.

Romo has reads on each play and he's finding an open man usually on the first or second progression so if Roy happens to be the third progression then he's not going to get the football. If Garrett has any concerns he could always call Roys number more often. Imo Romo was at his very best when he went by his reads and got rid of the football quickly. (Read Grizz's report if you haven't yet)

This is the right attitude. It's early. I think the more they practice/play together, the better things will get.

The Boyz just got rid of one idiot that Garrett had to please by getting him the ball...we don't need Romo targeting Roy just because!

They have progressions to follow, so let them follow them.

derekeagleton: Romo throws the ball high and outside to Roy who make the tall grab over Courtney Brown. How do you stop that play when properly executed.

It's a test to see if Williams can be a team player and not whine when he doesn't get the ball. j/k

However, I have to say he made a good impression on me Friday. I haven't been back since then, so I don't know if the good work continued. I hope it has.

Good answer!

Luckily for the Cowboys, our corners don't have to worry much about covering the Commander receivers....QCampbell just dumps it off and hopes for the best.

I kind of think it will take some games into the regular season before they really start to click. The other WR's just have more experience in the offense and played with Romo longer. Roy has the most talent and it will eventually show.

There you go.

Since we don't know what plays they are running, I'm going with that.

I think they are just using the opportunites to tune things up. That's what practice is for. The more reps, the more fluid it becomes. If Roy gets targeted 15-17 times a game then it's time to worry. Let them use practice to connect in the meantime though.

Yes. The progression through the reads is better than always one person.
