What have we done this off season that will make a significant difference in the up coming year from where we were last year.

May be frustration talking, but I don't see any.

For one thing, hopefully, we've significantly upgraded our STs coaching. STs cost us potentially 2 games last year.

I think Kitna is a good back-up.

I do hope we pick up 1 more CB before the Draft, however.

Compared to the Pats, we didn't need Fred Taylor at RB. We're set there.

As for WR, I'm not sure how much Galloway would have helped. I wouldn't mind bringing in another wideout, but I'd prefer Holt in a huge way over Galloway, for example.

I wish we could have signed Springs. But the Pats actually paid him a good deal of money.

We can still sign a decent CB . . . .

First off its only March.

2nd off our team is basically in place. We want to use continuity to our advantage in a league that struggles keeping teams together.

It is an advantage we have.

I believe we got rid of some dead weight this offseason (other than Owens because I don't think he was dead weight at all).

Give it some time. We are trying to put a young and exciting team on the field next year and with all the picks we have in the draft I expect us to try and land a lot of talent in April.

Then after the draft there is always a whole slew of cuts.

IMO, the one fairly high risk the Pats may be taking is potential injury risk with guys like Springs and Taylor. These guys do have a history with injury.

Of course, you never know and injury can hit any player at any time.

But specifically with Springs, for example, he has tended to wear down the last couple of seasons.

ok...although there's not much reason to argue with someone who clearly doesnt pay attention, but you're a fool if you think getting rid of Bruce Read for DeCamillis isnt a significant move. You're a fool if you think dumping Brad Johnson for Jon Kitna wasnt a significant move. You're a fool if you think getting rid of the teams biggest chemistry problem isnt a significant move.

I don't think this team needed to get significantly better from a talent standpoint.

We need to have a very different locker-room atmosphere, a very different offensive philosophy, better ST coaching, better defensive coaching from the first game, not the 10th, smarter QB play and a competent backup, and to use the talent we have in our young guys like Felix, Choice and the CBs.

While we have taken some steps along these lines, and some rumors about how we will run our offense and use the players have flown around, I don't think we are going to see if we have significantly improved any of it until the games start for real.

I am excited to see what some of the rookies from last year can do in their 2nd year though.

A fool.

You know people like you are the reason some don't post their thoughts around here.

Why the name calling?

It's my opinion that the changes we made are not going to get us to the SB, again, my opinion, it may be wrong to you, but a fool to think it?

Wow,you are a class act.

No wonder some think Dallas Fans are arrogant.

And you're a fool if you think that window dressing makes a significant difference in this team's chances for the future.

- The Cowboys' biggest and most glaring personnel needs are OL depth and Safety. OL is best addressed through the draft and the boys have 9 picks (and counting with the compensatory picks coming for Reeves and JuJones).
- Safety has been somewhat addressed with Sensabaugh added for depth, and I would be shocked if a Safety isn't one of the first 2 picks in the draft
- Kitna is the perfect backup (hopefully the boys draft a QB in rounds 5-7 for developmental purposes...as long as it isn't Sean "The Human Underwear Stain" Glennon)
- Brooking is probably an upgrade over Thomas, but LB is probably #3 in terms of personnel acquisition priorities
- Replacing Bruce Read with DeCamillas is a big improvement
- And getting rid of T.0. - the walking, talking, breathing distraction (not to mention not as productive) at WR will benefit the offense.
- Getting Felix Jones back healthy coupled with Tashard Choice's emergence will (hopefully) make this team more 50/50 run/pass instead of 58/42, which is what they were last year

Not only has the team made both significant coaching and personnel moves which others have already pointed out, but the possibility remains that significant moves could be made during the draft and/or later. I think it's misplaced frustration.

I hope you guys are right and let me say I love the optimism.

I just see whats going on with FA and moves being made and I want us to be part of it.
To tell you the truth ,the only real glaring weakness to me is the Secondary.

I see alot of optimism with some of the young guys, but I still am not a believer that we can stop anyone thru the air.

Hopefully I'm wrong and they step up.

I hope your right with the draft too.;)

Get us Holt, Lucas and Shaffer with just a decent draft and I say we go toe to toe with anyone in the league. WR and corner will have no issues. We'd have awesome depth at o-line and a solid backup QB that can win you a game or two if our starter goes down. Get a heck of a safety in round 2, NT depth and OLB depth in rounds 3 and there is no one as talented and deep as us.

Won't be complacent either with all this new blood competing. Just gonna need Jerry to let the coaches hold guys accountable and Garret and Wade to really coach and we can do this. But we got to get Holt. Peppers really boosted the Pats defense. Their offense will be super nasty in every facet. A lot of vets there coming together looking for a ring too and know how to show up on game days. Does their health hold up is the question though. How do they hold up to young spark plug teams with cohesiveness, talent, hunger and leadership? Get us the 3 I mentioned Jerry.
