I know we all hate to hear news on it, but I have received lots of hate comments from haters and Cowboy's fans to.. They like to make comments like "Homo is a Choke artist!" Cowboys fan... I personally do not agree. "The stigma that Romo is not a 4th quarter Quarterback - He has posted a 101.12 Quarterback rating over the past 5 years, in the 4th Quarter alone, with 14 game winning drives; 7 of which were against NFC East rivals. So before you decide to judge a book by it’s cover, read the stats, watch the film, and most important of all – Form your own opinion’s." Me I wrote an article on this a few weeks ago.. When Roger was making his comments.. I posted it on Facebook, and received nothing but hate on how terrible Romo is. One commenter actually said Ryan Fitzpatrick is a much better QB than Romo.. One even said the Cowboys need to promote Orton, and that he is the only hope for the Cowboys to win a superbowl.. They also said we need to get Tebow because he has a better arm, and trade Tony for a O-Lineman.. I'm going to let you guys pick these ******** comments apart.. If you care to read why I believe Tony is one of the better QB's in the league go here.. http://themadsportsnews.com/staubach-romo-one-champion-another/

Romo has to have playoff success before his career is done or all the stats won't mean much when someday he is viewed historically.

Beyond that I could says lots, but none of it would be anything that hasn't been said 1000 times in the past year here on CZ.

I agree! I just hate the ignorance when it comes to do you play Tony or not... How could you even believe Tebow has a better arm then Romo??

Dude please...stay off the Cowboys Facebook page. You talk about opposing team hating - band-wagoning know-nothing 15 year olds who's only reference point is Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. They think Quincy Carter was a former president (that's a real post by the way). Add to that the amount of chicks who know absolutely nothing (unlike the very astute and real girl fans here in the zone!) and it's a recipe for frustration.

Stay away and NEVER use Facebook as a reference point for a post again - please!

I'm not just using Facebook, many Cowboy's forums have the same people including this one. There are some very knowledgeable fans on Facebook.

If Troy gets less votes than Romo, I will sign off and never visit this site again. There you go Cowboy fans. Vote for Romo to get rid of me. :)

PS: At the moment Romo has 5 votes and Aikman only 3

Yeah, I like Romo too.
However, it's pretty hard to cross genrations like that in rankings.
I'm sure if the whole planet didn't know Romo was throwing every down and he had a strong run game (and defense for that matter), his picks would be lower....though I think both Aikman and Staubach actually threw more picks than he did per attempt.

In any case, I'm still not putting Tony ahead of either of those guys.

Would love to see the names of those who voted for Romo. It's votes from those who put regular season numbers ahead of playoff wins and championships.

I know but it's a numbers game. Pretty astute people in here compared to the number of users and generally they have insights and opinions that they try to back up but when you get 30,000 replies to a picture that are merely drive-by cheap shots you're just asking for trouble.

Nobody who knows football disputes Romo's talents, winning playoff games will take care of everything.

The question was who's the best QB, not who had the most playoff wins and championships. I voted Roger the Dodger.

Aikman HIMSELF says Romo is better than he was, so it's cute to see fans vehemently disagreeing with Troy on that one.

Who knows more about Troy's ability: you or Troy?

As for Romo vs Staubach, that's tough for me to pick since I was born in the '80s. But I will say that I don't subscribe to the rule that you must handicap the current player when ranking him vs a player from a previous generation.

It's nostalgic, illogical, and biased reasoning with the sole purpose of getting to pick your boyhood idols over today's superior athletes who are bigger, stronger, and faster than they were 40 years ago.

I remember when Aikman was playing, and everybody pointed to his numbers and said he wasn't that good; and won just because of Emmitt and the loaded team around him.

Now we have a QB in Romo who puts up numbers Aikman could only dream of; and Romo does it on a team with maybe 1/3 of the talent of the 1990's dynasty. Seems we as fans are never, ever satisfied.

Oh well- for the record, I voted for Staubach. o_O

Where did I say the best QB has to be the one who had the most playoff wins and championships? The question was who's the best Cowboys QB in history. I also voted for Staubach because he was one of the greatest clutch QB's in history and because he's the reason the Cowboys became America's Team. Before Staubach the Cowboys were known a next years champions and bridesmaids that all changed when he became the QB.
