Which team truly worries you the most in the entire NFC this year? And why?

I'm starting to wonder about Carolina. They have that one receiver who can hurt you all by his lonesome, even if he's the only guy. And a big, phyiscal WR opposite of him. You give him enough time and Steve Smith will own any DB, including ours. And they've got the whole thunder and lightning thing working with their running backs. They've got a QB with big-game experience. And they've got a dominant DE in Julius Peppers.

Just enough dominating players at key positions that cause some worry. Like a puncher's chance, you know?

Carolina-looks like the D-line is back
Philly-McPuke looks healthy and moving like he used to.
Seattle-better HC
Saints-lots of offense

Yeah, I put Carolina slightly ahead of the Saints because I'm not sure about their running game right now. But you're absolutely right, enough extremely talented players at certain positions to cause some worry.

Seattle doesn't worry me one little bit. They have Julius Jones. He is the black hole of suck. He makes other players worse, even if he doesn't play, simply by being on the team.

Plus, I don't think Hasselback's (sp?) back is going to hold up.

Maybe Philly, sure. They've got a good HC and defensive scheme to take full advantage of their good DBs.

Giants

Its always hard to knock off the Champs.

We see them twice this year and possibly 3 times.

----

Outside of the NFC East i'll go with Minnesotta until Aaron Rogers shows me something.

Minny does the 3 things I like.

They can play really good defense. They can block great, and they can run the ball.

You do those 3 things at a high level and your going to be dangerous.

Definintely the Vikings. Got the O and D pretty straight. We will have problems with stupid Eli and the Giants too though.

Only the cowboys. We've beaten our self these last 2 years. Whether it be ST or drop passes or stupid penalties.

If Mcfat stays healthy, Philly will be tough.

The Giants will have another good season but I personally think Dallas is just a better team and will make a few statements at NY's expense.

I'd worry about Minnesota but all you have to do is load the box and keep an eye out for your occasional play fake which may or may not be effective. I agree with Catch about their defense and we all know about their ability to run the ball.

Packers, lol I don't think so.

New Orleans may make a return to the playoffs this season and be a hard team to knock off.

Carolina is a toss up if you ask me.

One more thing. Watch out for Tampa Bay.

Yup, you bet. They don't worry me quite as much until Tavaris Jackson and their WRs show me something. Until then, I key on AP every single play. And even Superman can't beat 11 defensive players...maybe. :laugh2:

Minny has a good run defense, and a good pass rusher in Jared Allen. How do you feel about their current linebacker and defensive back crop? I really have no idea. Except for E.J. Henderson, that dude brings the big wood.

NFC East, Philly. I never count them out as long as Reid and Jim Johnson call the important shots.

NFC North, Minnesota, but I need to be convinced that Jackson can keep teams honest. Otherwise key on AP and hope the Offense gets some wind.

NFC South, New Orleans. They already had a decent Offense. Now they've added a top notch TE. He's a jerk but he an Brees can carve some teams up if they work together. Robert Meacham looks like he is finally healthy.

NFC West, Seattle. Holmgren will want to go out with a bang. He has personnel on both sides of the ball to do it.

I'm not that worried about Carolina. They still carry a reputation that they're a tough defense, but it's undeserved at this point. They've been going downhill ever since Buckner retired.

I think a darkhorse in the NFC is Arizona. They quietly finished 8-8 last year, winning 5 of their last 8, but no one is talking about them. I like Ken Wisenhunt a whole lot. He's completely retooled that roster and the franchise attitude from finesse to the Pittsburgh style of winning at the point of attack. They're really big and strong, and have a pretty solid starting 22 from top to bottom. The right side of that OL can just maul with Deuce Lutui and Levi Brown. Warner is just crafty and accurate enough to efficiently get the ball to his playmakers.

Honestly, we are the class of the NFC. If the Cowboys don't get it done they have only themselves to blame. We are by far the most talented team in the conference.

Agreed on Warner's passing, but he has to be about the most fragile thing outside of a china shop...and then they have Leinart. :lmao2:

I just have zero faith in Kurt Warner to stay healthy for an entire season. But I do think Whisenhunt has them going in the right direction.

Their entire defense is stacked. They draft well and I like the core of their team.

Tavaris Jackson does scare me though.

I thought if they couldn't get Favre they should have been the team begging for Chad Pennington.

All they need is a care taker to not make mistakes and take whats given to them.

John David Butt may flourish in that system in a few years.

I know our Scouting Department really liked Booty and i've gained a bigtime trust four our Scouts over the past 5 years.

I also like the Kid from Texas Cedric Griffin. Hes a corner. Big, Physical corner. I wish we could have gotten him. He flew under the radar.

And of course Antoine Winfield is a stud and Darren Sharper...
