How long did Felix last with his non-bruising style?

He pulled a hamstring and then his torn ligament in his toe occurred while rehabbing. It was not the result of being beaten up carrying the football.

I like the rotation as is... MBIII can soften up the run game then let Felix and Choice do their thing!

I don't think many of you realize how fortunate we are to have 3 backs of this quality.

Felix showed that he's going to be special, 6 TDs in 7 games - and he didn't get a single carry against Wash.

Choice ran great against some top 5 defenses, and was the steal of the draft last year.

Barber is still Barber, and will have a chip on his shoulder after last season.

Hopefully RJ will get a little more imaginative than draws from the shotgun.

Barber is being paid starter money and will start. Hopefully we spread the carries around. I'd rather see Felix move around and line up all over the place.

Which is a shame. Not that he will start, but that his contract is so high without ever producing a 1000 yd season.

I don't wish ill on anyone, but let's say that Barber just doesn't produce at all at the start of next season. Do you think his salary will impact Garrett's decision (Jerry's decision really) on who to play?

I too, love the idea of Felix starting. To tire the defenses out with Felix and then send that ramrod named Barber seems like a plan.

As for Choice, there is only one ball to go around and WRs, TEs and RBs all want the ball. I say let him be our backup and don't chance him being injured when he should be our rainy-day back.

Why not?

Let Choice start, Felix change-up and Barber close.

That's the lineup in my eyes.

It's the correct one, too. Felix Jones, like Barber, was never a starter in college. Starting wore Barber out last year and starting would wear Jones out this year, if tried. Choice is the best back of the three anyway, if only one were being kept. Barber's money can't dictate his starter position - only his production can, and he didn't produce as a starter.

i love the idea of felix starting, to me that is where he needs to be...build the game around him and TO will suddenly be open ALOT MORE...the guy is the real deal....then with barber coming in on a tired defense he is going to do waht he does...close things out....marion barber AKA lee smith.

Absolutely. We had that and changed it right before the playoff game the year before. Barber is starting.... I said, "Noooooooo".

More like the Sandman, Mariano Rivera :D

Felix Jones needs to assume the role that Julius Jones had in 2007. Why people are claiming he's injury prone is beyond me. There is no reason why he couldn't start.

Another ABSOLUTELY.

Make defenses chase Felix. Then bring in Barber and the concern goes from we have chase the guy down(Felix) to we have to watch out this guy(Barber) doesnt chase us and down and run our arses over.

IMO Barber will never be a great starter. Love his heart and guts and determination, but he's not super-talented as a running back.

And I may be the only one, but I think Choice is a dime-a-dozen back in this league. He's a very nice backup with a great attitude, and I'm glad we have him locked up cheap for a few years. But he's not special.

Who is special? Felix.

If it were up to me, I'd make him our Westbrook and key the entire offense around him.

I like Choice a lot as well, but Jones is a special player. A weapon. I would hope that Garrett is spending all of his time studying how he can be better utilized. If we go out there with the same idea we had last year, we lose the benefit of having that special player.

Start Barber, and give him a series or two. Put in Choice til around the end of the 3rd quarter. Replace with Barber. Sprinkle Felix in throughtout the game.

I want Choice in a bunch, because he's a leader, and we need to have him engaged in the game.

Of course, any injury makes this a moot point. Having three good guys allows you to go on with one down.

Good idea. It's okay to make Barber a figure-head starter if Choice takes over the heavy lifting quickly, bringing Jones in to create lightning, and using the 'starter' to mop up.

Keeps everybody happy and put to their best use.

:)
