Why do you guys care if it's made up or not? Who cares lol it's not like he made up a story about Garrett being sloppy drunk and badgering the waitress, the story was about Jason Garrett being at a restaurant and eating food. What is so unbelievable about that?

I care because I hate bad tippers.

I tipped the girl that cut my hair and my sons hair 20 bucks last week.

:)

One more reason to loathe Garrett.

To be fair, not every grown man gets all excited, and pulls on another mans meat when he sees him. Famous or not...that's groupie status.

A female? Ok...that's understandable getting excited over seeing a bad chick that's famous.

This is exactly the way I feel about it. I'm that man that won't go groupie status. I'll say hi and make small talk but, unless it's someone that really gets me geeked up (like Emmitt), I won't take it that far.

Who said I believe everything I'm told? Lol that's a poor assumption on your part. It just doesn't matter that much to me whether he is telling the truth because it has no bearing on my life either way. Basically.... I just don't care, and I don't see why anyone else should.

It's important enough for him to start a thread about it. The way message boards work is someone creates a thread and others offer their opinions on it. Strange logic I know. It's the bye week there isn't much to talk about.

The real question is what would you have said if it were Jerry!? I would be conflicted to say the least. Should I shake his hand or punch him in the stomach?

i think most people would react the same way.

My only opinion is that if I'm going to come to CZ to post about a player, coach, whoever, knowing the inherent cynicism of message boards, I get a pic to show proof that the encounter actually took place.

That's just me, tho.

As for whether Jason Garrett was in Austin, I believe he was there. That's the beginning and end of the debate for me.

Discussion and giving opinions is one thing. Telling the man he is lying and demanding proof for a non story is another. But whatevs my Cowboy fan bretheren. My day is still good. Enjoyed the read OP.

That there is the part I don't get. I mean I'm sure he didn't think, "OMG I have to get a pic or else the guys that I don't really know on Cowboyszone aren't going to believe this!" It is just sad that you need proof of everything now days, even a non eventful encounter with someone that is well known. Just enjoy the story and move on.

You don't need a pic man. Most of us believe Zordon's story. There will always be a few that demand a picture ID or else. It's the nature of the modern message board.

I think Zordon's story is true, there is no need to lie. I also think that JG didn't tip, not because he was a bad person, but because I have had similar experiences. I use my CC for everything. I NEVER carry cash unless its preplanned and I go to the bank. I think JG probably went to the bar for a bite and to watch the game, got his meal comped and didn't have cash. He was probably planning to pay on his CC. I have felt like crap when I didn't have cash to give a tip, I could only offer an apology. What kills me though is people think just because someone is rich that they should pay more than the standard 15-20%.

Well, it's all relative. I personally believe in providing details to my post. Not so I can be cz-approved, but because I just like to be accurate or show some measure of proof that what I said is true. Not a fan of posting unverifiable stuff. Again, that's just me.

However, when ppl do post stuff that can't be verified, I take it Fwiw, and move on.

My grandpa used to tell a story about being on liberty in San Francisco and running into Boris Karloff walking his dog in a park. He said they talked for a while about the weather and such. I believed him. It would have been much more interesting if it was Robert Mitchum, Ava Gardner, or one of the other stars from that era, just like Zordon's story would have been better if he ran into Kate Upton and they went bar hopping.

It would have been really great if he had met Tom Landry and then Landry didnt leave a tip.

I think this thread is a perfect representation of CowboysZone.
