I'm not listening to any talk shows; I'm not reading any fan discussion websites; I just want to vent my frustration while the wound is still freakin' fresh.
Open letter to Jerry Jones: Tuna time w/ the Cowboys has passed, let him go.
Tuna is a HOFer and deserves all the accolades he's gotten in the past. However, we're living "in the now" and the time for him to ride into the sunset has come.
He did a solid job in his four years here. Although he hasn't brought the team completely back (going to and winning the SB), he stabilized a floundering franchise, brought in and developed good players, and will leave the shelves stocked with plenty of good players for the next HC.
The game has passed Tuna by. He reminds me of the "old time" poker player who just can't keep up w/ the new poker generation. He hasn't or won't change his game to deal w/ the agressive young guns of poker thus no longer being able to compete on a consistent basis.
The TG fumble for a safety AND the Romo fumble on the missed FG should have NOT, I repeat, should have NOT been factors in the outcome of this game! We were playing a team who had so many players injured and out of comission, the game should not have gone down to the wire! We should have attacked early and often, should have exploited their obvious weaknesses and gone for killshots instead of just playing close to the vest and trying to win it, by a squeaker, in the end. We should have had a big lead going into the final minutes.
I'm looking for fresh blood, someone w/ fire & who's aggressive, who isn't afraid to open things up offensively and defensively early and often. Someone w/ a fresh view of things. I'm not sure who that may be, but we should start looking NOW!
I want to end this by saying thank you to Tuna for helping restore some of the lost luster of this franchise. However, I believe a change is needed if we want to keep moving forward and get to (and win) the SB. I've lost faith in Tuna to get us there. So Jerry, I want to end this w/ a plea from a sad, frustrated Cowboys fan; do the right thing and make a change.
