I starting to get a little worried about what Parcells is doing...

I'm not trying to start anything here. I know there is a lot of offseason left...but I'm a little worried about next season.

We ended the season last year with some real needs. I didn't see WR as one of them. Sure, I was hoping we would bring in some young talent at the position either through FA or the draft but it wasn't a position I was truly worried about.

With all this talk about T.O. I feel that some of us have forgotten what this team really needs and that is a complete offensive line overhaul. It doesn't matter if T.O. comes here or not. Personally, I could care less. All I know is that if we do not address our offensive line it won't matter who our WRs are...we will not be an effective offense.

I was hoping we would go after Bentley and Neal. I don't know if Neal has signed with anyone yet...but I would really like having him here. Personally, I feel that the Rivera signing was a huge waste of money. It is a shame because I really had high hopes when we brought him in last year.

Now, I liked the Kosier signing. He brings quality depth and youth to a unit that sorely lacked both last year. However, I don't think we are doing enough to address the situation.

And if we actually signed Fabini it won't change how I feel. We need youth. We don't need another old, slow lineman that will only be around for two to three years at most.

This offseason has a long way to go yet...but I feel that the Cowboys dropped the ball early on. There were some very talented offensive lineman early on that we missed out on and I hope it wasn't because Jerry is too busy trying to bring T.O. here.

I really hope we don't go into next season with our current offensive line.

I remember all of this worried talk last off-season. I don't know if you guys remember, but most people around these parts were doom and gloom about the '05 season, and it turned out to be a very positive thing. Go figure.

Easy he is amking one last run here we will have a lot of good young defenders when he bolts but we will be stuck with a WR that will break the locker room his second year we will burn cap money throwing his arse out and we will have an old washed up QB and 1 good young wr and old oline with some young guys mixed in some of them not that good

Yep I am just thrilled

It was so positive we missed the playoffs and finished 3rd in the division. Enjoy it all you want, last year was just another year of crappiness.

You're just a ray of sunshine there, buttercup. A 3-win swing in a positive direction and in the playoff race until Week 17 gets a thumbs up in my book. It's no playoff bid, but considering most were considering us lucky to back into 5 wins, I'll take 9-7 and getting better.

What was positive out of the biggest collapse in Cowboys history?

Wow, do they award playoff spots for trying hard?

There were a lot of positives from last season. Our defense being the main one.

But unless we get better on the offensive line we'll be just another middle of the road team fighting for that last playoff spot.

I don't know about you...but I'm tired of being a middle of the road team.

Signing T.O. doesn't mean we're done in FA, there is still a few more lineman out there to get.

I could also see us shoring it up in the draft. Take Winston Justice at 18, go LB or FS in the 2nd, and grab another lineman in the third.

So you're looking at..

LT Adams
LG Kosier
C Johnson/Gurode
RG Rivera
RT Justice

You have no concept of building a team from the ground-up.

Hmmm...you could say the same thing about what Parcells has been doing. You don't build a team by bringing in aging players in the twilight of their careers.

I give him credit because of what he has done for the defense. But you build a team defensive and offensive lines out.

It all starts in the trenches.

In the two years Parcells has had an off-season to work to sign "his" players, the Cowboys have gone from this

6-10

to this

9-7

The overall talent level is higher than it was last season and with all of these rookies just getting better, I don't see what there is to get your panties in a bunch about.

I think BP has a plan,, and is working it. In the Salary cap nfl.. you can't bring in all missing peices at one time, it takes time to rebuild. And its not over yet.. Our D is much younger and Better than it was 3 years ago. Our oline is in the shape its in because a couple of Draft picks have thus far been flops..and if i remember right, before Flo went down last year,, we were doing pretty dang well. Now we do need depth and that has started to be addressed and I would expect it to continue in FA with one or 2 more OL signed, and addressed in the draft,, 2nd round, Marcus McNeil. The kicking situation is not really BP fault.. if i remember right, we had a kicker that was pretty decent, then got hurt right at the end of camp and never regained his confidence it would seem. We do need to address that in quick order. We also need to address the qB no later than next years draft. If drew h is the guy, great ,, if he is still sitting at #3 , we have to make a move on one. The Wr needs to be revamped.. and TO is not the answer, I would expect us to draft one if not 2 in this draft.. maybe a 3 and 6. I do not think this is the year we make a run.. it will be next, we still had to many holes to fill this offseason,, next year,, there shouldn't be near as many. This year, we make the playoffs,, next year we run at the SB. jmo.

Great. Another rookie at RT and a backup calibur lineman playing LG. Makes me feel all warm inside.

What if Adams goes down again? What if Rivera never recovers?

What I'm trying to say is that there were young, proven players on the market that would have instantly improved this team where it needed improvement the most.

I wouldn't care if a rookie started at RT again so long as he was a legit 1st rounder and not a guy we took in the 6th whose stock had come crashing.

WHO?? Bentley?? Center was not a huge issue,,if we needed an OL, it was a guard and a RT.. name one on the FA that is young, proven player?? You want to sign Hutchinson?? 50 mill for a guard. no thanks.. the FA market was not full of great lineman this year. I think we got the best utility lineman out there and anyone we sign at RT would be for just a year or two at best. We can't fall in the trap of signing someone because they are a "name" and not a need.

Ok...I'm only going to say this once.

I don't care how much it costs if it gets this team to the next level. People keep *****ing about price.

This is a business. You have to spend money to make money.

Oh...and Bently can play both guard and center. In fact, some say he is better as a guard.

I would have gone after Bentley and Neal. Cut Allen, start Bentley in his spot, have Rivera and Neal battle it out for RG. Draft a rook at RT and let the rook and Kovier battle it out for the RT spot.

I know it is too late now. And I know FA isn't over. I just hope we don't go into next year with the offensive line we currently have.
