ok guys, i talked to jacque taylor on david smoaks sports talk, heres what he said

first, he talked cowboys before i asked him, he said, that he believes that Jerry Jones soldified the cowboys offensive line problems by resigning Gurode, and getting leonard davis in free agency. He then said that colombo agent is asking way too much money, that he has been drinking way too much some beverage, or something along those lines; but JJT seems to think that the cowboys and colombo will come to terms on a 2 year deal, about 3-4 million a year or so.

i then asked him about who would be holding on field goal attempts since our starting qb shouldnt be in case of injury. He said that most likely that Brad Johnson would. I then asked him if we would spend a 3rd round draft choice on a good punt returner, since you guys realize that we shouldnt have our starting cb newman returning them, he said he didnt see the cowboys drafting a high pick 3rd round on a punt returner, that maybe you would see patrick crayton and newman on certain situations.

i am of the mind that the cowboys might go in 3rd or 4th round for a good running back backup/punt returner, kinda like they did in 4th round last year for skyler green. if you guys remember, the chargers picked sproyles a good kickoff/return guy in 3rd round a few years back, and remember that we drafted kevin williams in the 2nd round when jimmy johnson was here.

jacque said that the agent for colombo either is drinking way to much beverage or high on something for asking the high dollars he is trying to get for colombo, that colombo wants to play for the cowboys but it will be about a 2 year deal, when colombo agent comes down in his asking price

Oh I gotcha...

I interpreted it that Dallas was leary of signing him because he drinks too much alcohol...

Thanks...

Hard to know who is worth what given the recent contracts.

If I were the Giants or Commanders, I'd think about making Colombo an offer. You either drive up the price that the Cowboys ultimately pay, or you leave Dallas in a lurch by signing Colombo. A win-win vs. a division rival.

yeah me too, i want colombo to resign, i like him,

gosh, can you guys imagine our right side if colombo resigns
Gurode 6-4 332 Center, L Davis 6-6 1/2 360 RG, Colombo 6-8 334,
that would be almost biggest offensive line, with F Adams at LT 6-7 335
that gosh, im drooling to get colombo resigned, it should be huge holes for
our running backs;

not sure if you guys remember, but back when we had erik williams 6-6 330
nate newton 6-4 340, and derek at center mid season 6-4 345, they were huge holes for emmitt smith to run behind, and they gave after beating up on the opposing defensive lines first half, gave troy plenty of time to throw

GET IT DONE JERRY, RESIGN COLOMBO

I read it the same way.

Things like that when not cleared up are how rumors start.

maybe why their not resigning colombo to a 3rd year is due to colombo knees, especially the one that he had dislocated kneecap,

then you got to think that seems like the cowboys are thinking that, maybe due to our doctors staff they know something more about colombos knees, more than we know, has to be a reason that they dont want to resign him to a 3rd year,

then dont forget that the cowboys are getting McQuistan ready, all 6-6 324 pounds of him, because parcells was really high on him, and im sure you guys saw the key block that McQ made on the kickoff return that McQ made on a linebacker when Miles Austin made that long kickoff return,

mcq, leaped about 2 feet in the air to make the key block on the kickoff return, get mcq alittle more strength, playing experience and i think lookout, because parcells was real good at finding 4th to 6th round picks of good offensive linemen in the draft.

I think we will in the end get Colombo. McQ is clearly being groomed to eventually take The Hotels spot. The weights listed are too high for Gurode- he has never been over 315. Colombo was at 320 I beleive. The Hotel started off at around 345; don't know what he ended as but while it was probably less- I doubt he was under 335. Now colombo, with another offseason to lift weights and get more strength back might go up some.

I dont like the idea of drafting for backups!
This is way too risky approach for the first 4 rounds.

He needs to check his history, and maybe I do too, because I thought it was brad johnson who couldnt hold a bad snap to kick a short game winning field goal when he was in washington? They lost to tampa I think it was 99? norv turner was there....they had the game won over tampa, just like we did seattle and the snap and hold were no good. I am pretty sure it was johnson holding!

so there is some irony there that he would take over for romo.
