I think potentially our secondary could be fine!

Outside of the 1st qtr, I actually thought our secondary played much better. As the game progressed the Packers weren't getting the deep shots, but rather taking advantage of our poor linebackers in coverage.

-Elam shouldn't be starting, he is more of a backup corner who should play in certain packages.
-Wilson still is playing out of position, however, looking forward in seeing Thomas play the next few weeks
-Stewart has been one of the bright spots for our defense
-Diggs/Bland are still fighting to come back from injury, only get better from here
-We still have a 1st rd talent in Revel expected to make his debut, Butler who was a surprise last season and even have Carson on the mend.

Get back injured players, draft well, but for the love of God, get blue chip defensive players via FA " still in their prime"......they don't have to all be All Pros, but stop with the busts and old guys!

We have to do better than getting Amari Cooper and Pickens 7 years apart

Dude...they are allowing over 34 points a game and 406 yards of offense....there is nothing fine about our secondary.

Maybe they can improve some esp if better pass rush but good lord they are bad
They have been playing a bunch of backups and a corner who isn't healthy missing multiple months. They will get more healthy.

Diggs and Bland have elite ball skills but it is obvious now that they excel with quarterbacks throwing the ball quick because of a pass rush. Put them on the Rams or Texans they would be all pro.

Health is key in secondary, especially at CB. The starting CBs are coming back from injury, so they have to get healthy and back in football shape. On top of that, the depth (Revel, Carson and Butler) is working back, and how long till they're in football shape.

So, the potentially Top 5 CBs have been dealing with injury or missed time.

At Safety, a rotation should be started to see who emerges as the starters moving forward, that's competition, not handing a guy a spot watching him struggle and doing nothing.

Keep in mind, I have issue with Flus, but I agree with @Cowboyny improvements could be on the way considering the schedule for a couple weeks hopefully coupled with better health.

I think they both are still good cover corners, remember they both are coming back from injuries and just faced a top offense. Outside of some struggles in the red zone, I thought they played solid. Really interested how Revel plays when he finally returns. Many thought he was a 1st rd talent that slid only due to his injury.

You can try and justify it anyway you want but they are playing the guys they have and they suck. I said this was my big worry going into the season and got roasted for it but now we’re seeing the combination of injuries, bad contracts leading to little depth and a poor scheme creating the perfect crap storm

...I agree, the little things. More of this ,less of that.

More of this player, less of that one.

Draft a sticky corner and the LB next year in the first round

With the way the linebackers are playing, they really should consider playing Wilson at the position. I know Eberflus won't do it, but that is where he makes the biggest impact. Hopefully, Thomas forcing their hand and sees the field more.

People forget that Revel was a 1st rd talent. We have zero idea how he will perform, but it is another legitimate option headed back. When we can move Elam to more of a backup role, that will improve the unit right away.

They have been playing many backups and a corner that many thought wouldn't be back until mid season. Add in a new scheme, it is a challenge.

Yes I agree but the guys they are playing suck bc they have no depth and they are so top heavy due to bad contracts.

I like the idea, but how about Bell as a passing down LB, if he doesn't get a Safety spot?

Revel is a bonus. I wouldn’t get to hyped on him. Maybe he will be a pleasant surprise. He looked hurt to me in training camp.

I think we could be OK in the secondary IF we can get a consistent pass rush. GIving a QB time to throw will destroy any zone scheme. I'm just worried that we can't keep dropping 7 at the rate we do and still expect to get the QB uncomfortable.

Also think about this one of those DBS might end up being converted and be a solid free safety,

I mean we both know that Diggs doesn't want to contact Bland's coming off a foot injury, so he's not going to come up on run support as well as he used to So when Revel comes back maybe he'll at least be looking to be more physical and fit better than Elam, and then you got Butler and/ or Carson that maybe they might make better safeties, like free safeties cover three guys, I mean I know Butler was pretty physical..

Gotta decide who's ready to come off IR and they also decide who they replace That goes for Mingo as well I mean where is he going to find a spot as well as our receivers are playing, they just leave him out there for that window as long as possible?

For every player you bring off IR you have to make a spot for remember that who's getting cut Who are they replacing these are hard decisions...
