I think Ryan Williams is the RB, perhaps with McFadden

Does anybody have film on Williams or a good analysis? I don't recall ever seeing him play..

We'll probably draft a rb. A good one, somwhere in the upper rounds even.
But realistically, rookies are rarely given such a siginificant workload in their initial pro season.
The player has to really be something/someone special to be featured heavily, and they have to be trusted with pass protection, a grasp of the playbook, chemistry, timing, etc. These things usually just don't work that way.

I see a Ryan Williams led backfield, with McFadden... or McFadden, with Williams (depending)... while a rook may serve in a complimentary role, perhaps increasing- depending on performance. But the aforementioned two getting the bulk of the carries in a hot hand approach- both being serviceable behind this great o-line.

I liked his performance last year. Ryan Williams ! I hope he has a breakout year..

I think a Round 1-2 pick is too early. R3 - if Coleman, Dave Johnson, Langford, TJ Yeldon are there, that is good value. But I expect a R4 pick in Buck Allen, USC or Cameron Artis-Payne, Auburn. CAP reminds me of Emmit Smith. I won't be disappointed with a Emmit Smith clone in R4.

Keep an eye on Mike Davis from South Carolina. Will be interesting if they bring him in for an interview.

Committee imo. There's a chance they draft a RB in the first, although I don't think it's as likely as others think. Dallas does tend to draft the best player at a position in the first round, though. They may want to take the best RB in the draft instead of the fourth DT.

The contract situation with Ryan Williams and all the whispers of what the team thinks of him has me feeling like he's going to have a heavy role this season. It just feels like a situation similar to Romo in 05/06 and Miles Austin in 08/09 where the team expects starting potential and is keeping it a bit under wraps.

This undeserved faith in a RB that was nothing more than training camp fodder last year is perplexing. I don't think Williams is on the roster next year let alone starting at RB.

The starter will be found in the draft and that means at least one of the running backs on the roster is the odd man out. Maybe two. I see rookie, McFadden and Randle and Dunbar fighting it out for the 3rd spot.

He played last preseason and looked really good.

His college game footage was better than many of the RBs in the current draft that people are drooling over.

So why is on the practice squad where any team could get him. and that whole, he turned down offers deal is bs

Any prediction of our starting running back is premature at this point. I'd suggest it's open competition right now and will be determined in Training Camp.

Williams is a very good runner. But not blocking, that's the only thing that could keep him off the field when healthy.

I kind of feel that way, too. Add in how much Jerry talked about McFadden's pass protection, and you get the feeling they're ok rolling with Williams on early downs and brining in the pass protector in throwing situations.

I think they want to get the ball to Dunbar in space more than they did last year, too, if he comes back. They're going to draft a guy, and it's probably Joseph Randle who's knuckleheading himself off the team if he keeps up this pace unless there's a real surprise in training camp.
