You don't like tank?

Not that I don't like him, I'd be pretty happy with him at 47. But I think it would be a pretty big stretch to call him one of the top 20 prospects in this draft class, which is why I would be upset if he's the pick at 18.

fluker will be long gone. wont get past 15.

If he goes that high, it's a mistake, and a bonus for the Cowboys...he has been a late-1st round talent all along and recently moved up, but hasn't done anything to move up? all hype team....I like the guy and in the 25 range, I would love him to be a Cowboy, especially if they designs of making him a Guard...I would be disappointed if they took him with #18 with the intent of being the RT

I disagree I think he is a great tackle and will be a pro bowler . We won't have a chance at him .

I don't know what I'm missing. I don't like Tank at all.

Is it due to the ACL injury? Otherwise 11 sacks in 11 games is pretty impressive. If healthy, he would be the in the running for best pass rusher in this draft. Carradine will be better than Jarvis Jones IMO. And he has better position flexibility. Jones probably only succeeds as a 3-4 OLB. And Mingo, Jordan and Ansah are all "upside" guys, more potential than production based on their freak measurables.

And 6'4 280 4.75 (that is a very good 40 time for a guy still on the mend) are very good measurables too. Carradine could end up the clear cut best pass rusher in this draft in 2-3 years.

Tank does not need the freak speed measureables because he is a Strong-Side DE, IMO. It's the Weak-Side DEs and Weak-Side 3-4 OLB that need to have the freak measurables.

Having said that, Strong-Side DEs usually get drafted in the late 1st to 2nd round.

I am not advocating taking him with the 18th. I was just asking why he didn't like the player. It was a blanket statement that I was hoping he would elaborate on. Carradine may be a late first rounder now but he would be insane value with our 2nd pick.

I was supporting your post, no disagreement here.

I like Carradine.

I just worry about the timeframe for his recovery and whether he might start the year on the PUP list.

I also worry about guys who didn't get a lot of playing time in college. Sometimes flaws in a game don't become obvious until a player has had exposure and other coaches try to spot weaknesses to exploit.

I also worry about guys who play with other great players. Might their ability be a bit overrated because so much attention is heaped on their teammate.

I respect the player and I do think he looks like an ideal player for us at LDE. He also has surprising pass rush ability and athletcism for such a big, strong guy.

The lack of sustained productivity, starting less than one season and suffereing a major injury should push him into the second round but pass rushers often get over-drafted.

I'd like him in a trade back scenario to the bottom of the first if he were still there. But I wouldn't take him over Werner, D. Jones and Sly. I don't think you have to knock every first rounder out of the park so long as you do hit some. You just need to put up a lot of doubles in the first two rounds and sprinkle in some singles later year after year and you'll find yourself with a really good team like the Ravens.

It's even better if your spend wisely in FA and add key players to a young core when available (i.e. 49ers).

I believe Sam Montgomery, Margus Hunt, and Carradine will all be available by the time we pick in the 2nd round.

I also believe that Ansah could slide to our pick at 18 if all of this offensive line craziness occurs. Just a hunch

- We’ll have more on this in the coming days but right now the top suitors for Cornellius Carradine of Florida State are the Miami Dolphins (12th selection), the New York Giants (19) and Minnesota Vikings (23 & 25). Carradine has had a lot of recent contact with Miami and if the Dolphins agree to terms with offensive tackle Brandon Albert, he becomes a real possibility with the 12th selection (Miami could grab a cornerback/tight end in rounds two and/or three). I was told at the Senior Bowl the Giants, who’ve also had a lot of one-on-one contact with Carradine the past week, rated the Florida State senior as one of the best defensive ends in the draft prior to his injury. The fit with the Vikings makes sense considering several of their defensive ends are entering the final year of contracts. The Atlanta Falcons are also in the mix for Carradine.
