Thank God for the internet. At least I can fins some good sports radio to listen to. These guys are BORING. The other station that had Galloway on at least was talking Cowboys. I think it was ESPN.

The Ticket IS sports radio, however the reason so many people like it is their obscure approach to bridging the gap between pop culture and sports, and insulting everyone along the way. You eother love it or hate. IMO its the funniest radio station on the planet.

The ticket is the worst excuse for a Sports station i have ever heard. they talk more crap than they talk sports. really irked me when JJ signed on with them for the games.

TheTicket is sports entertainment. Much like the WWE. A poor excuse for entertainment, but they have a niche that likes it for some odd reason.

Yeah, when I lived around Dallas I couldn't stand the Ticket. Wayyyy too off-topic for my taste. It's weird, I know, that I would want to listen to sports talk on a sports radio station.

ESPN 103.3 isn't too bad. The Dan Patrick Show bites but GAC grew on me. And I like Jennifer Engel. It's good to know she has her own show, but what happened to the other guys?

Estridge moved to join Galloway at night.
Newy quit to focus on his tv cast.
The guy who used to be with Galloway was let go.

Jen and Steve Dennis have a quite good show.

The Ticket is annoying at times but you can't argue with their success.

Thanks. I was wondering where they all went.

I agree that there's definitely a niche market for the Ticket. I guess I'm just not one of 'em.

If you want straight sports on The Ticket you have to listen to Norm Hitzges' show...

Pure sports talk 24/7? I'd rather eat glass. And I'm a sports fanatic.

There is only so many ways you discuss the Barry Bonds issue. After about an hour, you've completely exhausted the topic. But on Pure Sports talk, they will talk about it for a total of about 40 hours. Kill me.

I like the Ticket because when there is ACTUALLY SPORTS NEWS, they talk about it. They review the local games and trends of teams. They talk about the news. But when is there isn't anything NEW---an important feature of NEWS---they will talk about some other stuff to break up the sports redundancy.

That, and I like getting information about other things as well. And laughing.

I personally got tired of the racist overtones that seemed to be a regular thing a year or so back.

I guess it depends on why you listen and when you listen. I only listen to the radio if I'm driving and I'm tired of listening to music. I only listened to Dallas radio when I was commuting back and forth to school or passing through on the way to Austin. And instead of listening to guys discuss the cup size of some girl on a tv show I didn't watch or who's gay or some other random topic, I'd flip over to 103.3 and hear them talk about the Mavs, or hear Galloway go off on the empty golf shirt, or maybe even hear some Cowboys news.

Norm does exactly the same thing every other show does on the little ticket.

I think it's just perceived that he talks nothing but "straight sports" because he has only 8, 10 minute segments to fill in his daily 2 hour schedule, rather than the 3-5 hours the other shows do.

It probably has changed a great deal since I listened on a regular basis but at that time he spoke sports more then not compared to the other shows.

Only problem was listening to him sound like he was having a slobbering love session because he would get so excited.:laugh2:

I can only listen to him in small doses. His voice and inflection is like a spike thru me head after 10-15 mins.

That, and he's kinda a sanctimonious, arrogant prick at times.

I've been a Ticket fan for many years now, and they are pretty popular. There do some to be posts on this forum every once in a while complaining about them though.

103.3 is more of a hard-core sports fan type station, so I guess for the most part the type of people who spend their time posting on a Cowboys message board are the type that would like that show.

I agree that there's only so much sports talk you can have in a day. Cowboys didn't do anything, Mavericks are still good even injured, Rangers are in spring training... that doesn't seem like 24 hours worth of things to talk about.

Who said anything about the Rangers or Mavs? ;) Honest to god, I could listen to a station that talked Cowboys Football 24/7, and I wish there was such a station.
