Our team has too many holes in the secondary to blitz too much.

The biggest problem with our defense is having DeMarcus Ware and Greg Ellis drop back in coverage during most passes. That is sooooooooooo gay. Could you imagine Strahan and Osi playing OLB in a 3-4, and having to drop back in coverage all night? DeMarcus Ware is a sack machine, and during crucial passes he's forced to drop back in coverage because of our defensive scheme.

once again 53 sacks compared to 46 sacks.

really honestly? we beat new york 2 times out of 3. come on!

we are a great team. just not experienced enough to make the leap. you know giants have been successful for a couple years now. playoff worn etc.

give it some time.

That is a good point. traditionally teams have to take their lumps and learn how to win in the playoffs. the giants did this the past two seasons, they won the division and got clobbered at hom by carolina, then lost in the wild card round on the road, then they drafted a corner and a wr.

Sound familiar!

The problem is in todays day and age, there is no patience from the owners, fans or media. Everybody wants to be the 99 rams.

Sometimes it just doenst work out that way. I love our team and I am very positive about the future, they need an attitude adjustment as does this city though.

our defense has to get more aggresive.play press coverage and pin ears back. secondary has to be upgraded.

There is not a darn thing wrong with our front 7, it is the secondary that is the problem. I don't think we have one DB there who can allow Wade to play his aggresive brand of defense. We have to play soft in the secondary, allowing QBs to find the open spaces, never giving our pass rush a chance, even while blitzing.

Last night you didn't see the Giants CBs playing 15 yards off the recievers. Until we improve our secondary, we will not get where we need to be.

I don't think Wade is doing that out of necessity. That is his choice. That's how they played in San Diego, and that's how they played last year here.

I agree, if yoou watch the NFL channel and some replays from last seasons games and they showed the Chargers they were playing the same exact D as us. They were about 10 yards off and given up alot of completetions. His theory is do not give up the deep ball at all costs. Thats all well and good but when you play a good team and get into the playoffs teams will be patient enough to take that 8 yard out all the way up the field.

We did have our chances in the playoff game but it was clearly obvious how out of sink we were. That was due to the pressure and coming from all different angles. When the Giants blitz too they blitz smart. They overload a side and someone comes free. Hes from Jim Johnson school of defenses. Its just they are more aggressive than us or any NFC team for that matter.

The Giants didn't blitz much, and when they did it sure as heck wasn't anything exotic. Their pressure came from Tuck, Osi and Strahan beating the dog out of the offensive lineman that was supposed to block them. It ain't rocket science.
