Whats a solid phone that has newer software and features on it that I can get between 80 - 120 dollars?

I preffer a flip phone too.

I just got a Krzr and I hate it. Its so basic and much like my Razor phone.

Im sending it back for something that has more modern technology.

Any suggestions???????????

I have the EnV2, has a keyboard, pretty good phone, have had it for about 7 months now and no problems. It has all the things most phones do, MP3, Navigation, 2 MP Camera, solid phone.

Only bad thing is that it has a pretty small external screen, which I don't use too often anyways, so its not a problem for me.

What carrier?

I have ATT and my phone is the Sony Erricson W580i. It a nice phone but the feature that sold me was the built in walkman fm radio. It also plays mp3's.

It cost me right at $100 a year ago.

I know there are a lot of you that absolutely despise anything Apple, but I went ahead and got the iphone this past week....and let me tell you...this thing is amazing. I can't imagine being disappointed with it. If your due for an upgrade, or are willing to renew your contract, it's only $199....and well worth it IMO.

I miss my Sony Ericsson W810i. I never got the FM radio to work, but I loved the camera on it. Just awesome.

I like my Blackberry Pearl, but I kinda wish I could've waited and gotten the Bold.

I studied the iPhone and it was nice, but I don't remember if it had the push-email feature or not. I know I really wanted that. Overall, it seemed cool enough. The problem is it would've taken me too long to get it as I was already without my phone. The cost for the Pearl and iPhone was about the same after all the discounts.

Just bump your price up to $200 and get an iPhone. You won't regret it.

I just mess with you about the apple stuff. I can't see me getting one because of the cost of the phone. My next phone will be the freebie you get for renewing. :D

That's the phone I have and I love it! The MP3 works perfect and it sounds great plugged into my AUX jack in the car. Plus it is nice to be able to have a MP3 at the gym yet still also have my phone if an emergency comes up.

The iPhone has an application where you can "tune into" 100s of radio stations from across the US. It also has a Pandora application, so you can basically listen to any band you can think of.

I have a Samsung Blackjack and its pretty cool, but my dad has an iphone and works on iphone apps. I got to mess with his iphone over the holidays and its incredible. The shazam app is out of this world, there was a song in a commercial I liked, I held the phone near the speakers for the last 2 seconds of it, and the Iphone told me what song it was, who it was by and what album its on.

I love pandora. I listen to that while I'm at work. Absolutely love it.

Good deal on the push email info. Maybe next if/when I need a phone. But like I said, that really wasn't the reason why I didn't get the iPhone, it was the fact that it would've taken a week to 10 days to get it. Got my Pearl in 24 hours.

Blackberry 9000(Bold) here and it's by far the best mobile device I've ever used and I've used a lot.

If you look around you can find deals. There was even a free Bold from someplace recently with a three year contract. I bought mine at launch so I paid full price and do not regret.

Like I said earlier. My next phone will have the fancy feature of dialing a number and that's all. I have enough devices that play games or play music.
I was trying to help the OP who said in his first post that he was partial to a flipper.:)

Since you are apparently looking too,

All BlackBerries have a voice-dialing feature whereby you do not need to add voice tags of any kind. You simply add a contact to your address book, for example, Chuck. Then, when wanting to call "chuck" you simply press the left side convienience key and say "call chuck" and the voice recognition software "reads" your contacts and pulls "chuck" out and calls them.

You cannot get any simpler dialing than that. Also, just because a device has MP3 compatibility, games, etc.., it is really not an issue if you simply do not use them. Few nice mobile devices today lack those features since the majority getting that phone will want all the features they can get. Not many devices out there claim bare bones as a feature that I'm aware of.

I suppose you could just get a free one that carriers offer.

Edit: Also, using desktop manager on your PC or going to the BB website and installing the device software, you can remove all games, etc.. from your Blackberry. I even removed BlackBerry messenger, Brickbreaker,etc.. from the device since I don't use it and it frees up device memory. You can also re-install them anytime from the Blackberry website if you decide you want to spruce it back up for selling purposes.

I just thought of something else too.:)

I gave my mom my old 8100 pearl because, get this, she wanted a phone just for making calls.

What I did was go in and remove all games etc., and then anything I couldn't or didn't want to remove, I hid the icons.

So now she has a Pearl with only an address book icon, wireless on/off icon(getting on plane), tools icon(for me when making an adjustment), device on/off icon, and that is it. No data plan, no nothing.

And at any time I can turn it back into a full-fledged smart-phone.

We're talking bare bones all the way, and in style. :) And Pearls aren't exactly expensive either.
