In 2014 Garrett finished 2nd in head coach of the year.

This year we have the best record in football and he might win it.

You don't accomplish that twice in three years by being a bum.

I'm not a huge Garrett supporter, but at some point you have to give the man his props.
I would say you are correct. Ginger has gotten better, for sure. But he still seems every bit the turkey. He just is weak in the way he approaches everything. He still thinks he has to show everyone that he can throw a football. He is slightly better than mediocre.

Fellow Dallas Cowboys fans;

To all our brethren who are gnashing their teeth because we lost a three point game to a pretty good NY Giants team in the Meadowlands, please take a minute to breathe. Enjoy, don't perseverate on the negative. If we had thought, at the beginning of the season, that our Dallas Cowboys would be 11-2 we would all have been fairly incredulous and giddy. And that is exactly where we are. Let us enjoy the moment. Your Dallas Cowboys won 11 in a row. We had never won 9 in a row in franchise history. What an accomplishment. And with a rookie QB and RB. Wow!!!

Even if we lose in the first round of the playoffs, this has been a very enjoyable season. Please do not mar the season by pointless gnashing of the teeth because our rookie QB threw 2 interceptions in the last game. Jeepers, he is a person, not a robot. And of course we can argue about whether he was responsible for the picks or not.

Shame on Jerry Jones for instigating the current unrest at QB with talk about when Tony gets back onto the field. The man cannot help himself, he is a motor mouth of a marketing approach that cares not how the team is viewed, as long as it is center stage and spoken about. Jerry is an endless stream of consciousness that proves over and over again that he really does not know much about football. He is no Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells, Bill Belicheck. He is a loud, crass, classless rich guy.

I wonder what this talent laden team would do with a real coach, gm combination. Imagine, Belicheck instead of Ginger!!

But I am regressing into that pit of what ifs and could have beens. Your Dallas Cowboys have the best record in the NFL. They have an unbelievably young and talented offense. Their D coordinator has done an incredible job of getting more out of less than any coach in recent memory. The defense has played smart, hard nosed, fundamentally sound and passionate football. Kudos to them and especially by boy, Sean Lee a fellow Penn State alum who has been outstanding. It reminds me of a quote attributed to Bear Bryant when speaking of another Cowboys great LB, Leroy Jordan. While he was at Alabama, Bryant said, "if the runner stays between the sidelines, Leroy will get 'em". We can say the same about Lee. He has been everywhere the ball is and he has stopped them cold. 22 tackles last week alone.

Much to be thankful for. Great team, great record, great fun to watch. Cowboys are back in the mix. More than we could have hoped for. Please enjoy the moment. It has been a very long time coming!!
I am pretty sure I am gonna like you, lad.
A bit o' optimism never hurts. Unless you are a Romonian.

Is this team really that "talent laden" when everyone acknowledges they need a major overhaul on defense?

Seems like the talent is a little overrated. I'd give the coaching staff a lot of credit for getting this very, very flawed team to 11-2.

Why would we expect any coach, including Belichick, to take over this team with a 4th round rookie QB and do any better than that? Because we're so "talent laden"?
If you think this defense merely needs some minor tweaking to get it where we should all want it then there's nothing left to say. Have fun watching and not understanding the games.

Where the hell do you "want it"? The defense is extremely solid as is. They're not world beaters and won't carry a mediocre offense, but they're very capable. A "complete overhaul" is 100% unnecessary.

It was a pretty good post until you uttered this nonsense.

So our coaching staff has held this team back to an 11-2 record? This must be one of the greatest collection of players of all time!

My thoughts exactly

It seems a lot of people are talking like it's this season or bust. I know we've waited a long time but a failed SB season would not be a bust. I'd feel better about this season than I did in 2007. Now that season was a bust.

It is Super Bowl or bust. Every Year. Just look at the standings right now, it looks like neither of last year's super bowl participants will be in the playoffs this year.

Can you imagine what would have been said of that 1991 team that got blasted by Detroit in the playoffs if the internet was around back them? Nobody knew we were on the verge of something very special.

It's easy to say that in hindsight. But you don't know what the future holds.

They've been pretty impressive all season, and more than that the last two weeks, for sure. What are we now, first in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and 3-4th in points allowed overall? I don't care how many leads you're playing with, that's impressive. And I'm on record clearly saying the defensive talent on this team is just not very good. But they're playing well together, no doubt about it.

I agree. I've been very hard on Garrett since he took over but I agree that if he's in consideration for COTY in 2 out of 3 years then that's something to look at. Also I feel he has done a tremendous job with these 2 rookies as far as keeping egos in check, creating an environment for them to succeed and you got to give credit to Garrett for Dak's development.

After this season I feel I was wrong about Garrett, he's a good coach. His managing of the players this year, developing Dak, handling Romo situation. He's done a great job. I'm glad I was wrong about him. And this really hurts to say but I give Jerry credit for sticking with him through the years Garrett was learning the ropes. I just wish we didn't take up the prime of Romo's career to break in Garrett. But if Dak and Garrett are the next decade of Brady and Belicheck then it was worth it. Feel bad for Romo tho.

NO....we won't because their D' is for real. Their O' is mediocre but that D' is damn solid even without JPP.
Do you still think the Giants are not a pretty good team?

Breathe and enjoy this ride. Dak, Zeke, the O line, Witt, Dez, Irving,
Lee were all fun to watch last night.

Go Cowboys and go ATT fans. We are getting to the point where it might be an advantage to play at home. Actually heard some noise.
