I predict that the Patriots will trade Rob Gronkowski this offseason.

I have absolutely nothing to go off of but they just made the Superbowl without him and he can't stay healthy.

If you were ever going to trade the guy and get a lot of value I think right now is the time to do it while he still has some youth left.

The guy has proven time and time again he can't stay healthy and the Patriots are the type of team that will value his contract and possibly picks over risking he doesn't play.

I don't have any destination predictions nor do I know if it even makes sense from a salary cap standpoint but it just seems like the kind of move the Patriots would make.

Gronkowski would draw some serious attention. Not sure Belichick is ready to part with him. Interesting idea.

BB is merciless with personnel. Brady's the only untouchable.

Although, looking at his contract, Gronk is ridiculously affordable in 2017. He's only costing them $7mil and has much fewer guarantees than I expected.

His cap hit is seven next season and jumps to 11 in 2018, I think they will wait until then.

He's a sneeze away from injuring something, anything. At that price? NOOOOOOOOO WAY!

Albert Breer made a similar prediction on his podcast, not that it would necessarily be this offseason but that Gronk would be the next big NE cut/trade

He will probably be with the Pats in 2017, but I could see them parting ways with him in 2018. His cap hit goes up and his dead money goes down.

What else will the Pats do with their receiving corp?

Julian Edelman is a UFA after this season.

Danny Amendola has 1 year left and a nearly $8 million cap hit for 2017. He isn't worth half that amount.

Martellus Bennett is a UFA after the year.

Given their track record, I think the Pats will figure out their receiver situation just fine. It only really got bad in 2006 and 2013, and after 2013 they promptly restocked and won a Super Bowl.

I think they try to keep Edelman unless he makes crazy money demands. He has missed a decent number of games and is over 30 so I don't think the market for him will drive his price up insanely high.

They will not pay Amendola, point blank. He's been nice depth/filler but nothing else.

Bennett has had lots of nagging injuries this year and hasn't done much down the stretch, so I don't know if they keep him or not. It depends on if he's willing to work with them on salary in return for staying, or if he's going to turn around and go after the biggest paycheck he can get.

Chris Hogan is under contract through 2018 and looks like a steal. Rookie Malcolm Mitchell looks like he has potential too.

It's not that crazy of an idea. The pats have made moves like these consistently for years.

There is no doubt most teams would be interested in RG.

Didn't the saints get a 1st for jimmy graham or something? RG will at least get what graham got but more likely will be more.

Saints got Max Unger and a 1st round pick in exchange for Graham and a 4th rounder. Gronk is younger and the better player, but he is also injured a lot. Teams will also have to consider how much the system plays a part. Gronk is good and he is also in a good offensive system. We saw how Graham's production dropped when he was put into a different offensive system.

I have no doubt the Pats will get things figured out. It still will cost money. Since Gronk is relatively cheap in 2017 I see them holding onto him for one more season. Any move will likely occur in 2018.

I could see him going to the Saints. I'm not sure how much they paid Fleener, but I'm sure Payton and Brees would like another great TE to throw to since they traded Jimmy Graham.

That would totally be a pats move and they'd probably fleece more than just a first rounder for him.
And then they'd plug in Ray Charles or my grandmother for Gronk and Ray or my grandmother would get 1000 yards and 10 TDs.
