I'm not a Henson Hater, but I'm not a QB Waiter either!
We've waited TOO TOO long since losing Aikman.

So let Henson start the next game, I DID see a tiny bit of hope in the Seahawks game. We all know what Bledsoe is capable? of (bangs head on wall)and we got a shiny new toy in Romo so let's give Henson a chance to show us what he has. No more excuses. If he sux, then cut him!

After all it's pre-season...isn't this the time to see what your players got?

I'd like to see him start as well to settle if he's a keeper or a not. This needs to be settled is he the future or not. the only way to see is for him to play.

Bledsoe needs the practice in game conditions to be effective. Giving that precious time to Henson, which would result in him being dumped based on how he's performing against the 3rd string would be counter-productive. I say just dump him and hope for a new QB in the draft next year.

I'm glad your not the coach and I'm a Henson supporter. Why put him on a make or break situation right now? He needs more seasoning that's all. Romo is looking alot better in his third year. Next year will be Henson's third. Let's at least see then and not demand make or break right now. Besides if you ask me going into this the Cowboys knew with Henson being out for 3 years that he should be given another year to develop than your average guy before it's make or break. So in Henson's fourth year let's start him in a preseason game and make it a make or break. I will take a 3rd stringer with as much talent as Henson then just about any other 3rd stringer in the league, wouldn't you? So what's the rush. He's signed for 7 years and the price is small the rest of the way since he already got most in signing bonus. So please, let level heads prevail. If he gets shipped out this year or off season and then becomes something, I will go nuts. What would we become then the Texas Rangers ala Sammy Sosa, etc. too many to count believe me.

I understand we all want to see Henson succeed, but we can't rush things just because we're sick of having no QB.

You will more than likely get your chance to see Henson start..............early next year when the NFL Europe league kicks off.

He needs the experience, and they should have sent him over there this past year.

Not gonna happen as long as that disgusting collection of cellulite is roaming the sidelines here.

Romo is our "shiny new toy"?

I think we need to take our toy back to Wal-Mart after the way he played Monday Night.

It's kind of interesting to me. People expect Henson (who is our development type QB) to look like Elway or it's "cut his sorry butt", but Romo plays like the UFA he is and the anti-Henson bunch aren't concerned, even though he's probably our back-up QB.

I don't get it. I guess it's they are too impressed with all that "moxie" Romo showed the other night. :)

My thoughts........Henson Should be our #3 guy. We saw him start last year, he sucked. We saw him in the last pre season game, he sucked. A tiny bit of hope is nothing to base your starter on. If all he shows us is a tiny bit of hope, he shouldnt even be the 3 guy. I remember last year, when he finished that one game going 6 of 6 and a TD (i hink). Everyone and their brother were drolling over him. As soon as the chicago game was over with, everyone hate him. I think he doesnt know enough about football, and he cant throw a consistent ball to save his life.

wow this sounds to logical we can not do something like this!

Actually it's not very logical, at this point. Henson has a contract that will allow him to develop. Bledsoe needs this time to get his timing down in real time, game situations with the rest of the offense. Maybe the last game of the preseason Henson or Romo will get the starting nod. But then again, they may not.

It's crucially important for Bledsoe to get all the work he can this preseason. He's a vet, but he needs to develop chemistry within our system.

The young guys are nowhere near as ready as him to lead the team, so they should play the part they're cast in... young backups in training. God help us if we have to rely on either of these kids this season.

Bledsoe is our one and only shot at QB this year if we have any hopes of making the playoffs. Everyone needs to come to grips with this. This backup QB situation is interesting, but it's a sub-plot at best.

The Henson/Romo/backup situation will sort itself out in time. The thing we need to worry about is if Bledsoe is ready to lead this team, and that's why he should play 2+ quarters in the third game.

You know, its funny. Alex Smith is by all accounts much more NFL-ready than Henson... yet the 49ers know what their priority is... getting their starter ready to start this year. I can't see why we're all so much more impatient for our young QBs to "show something immediately".
