I was very glad to see Romo use the dump option several times this game. It does and shows several things. First it gives Barber the ball in the open field, and that is one of the toughest spots to tackle him. Secondly it shows that Romo is making better decisions, instead of trying to force the ball downfield into tight coverage, he's taking what the defense is giving him, realizing he doesn't have to make a touchdown on every play. If Romo keeps getting Barber the ball like this, the defense is going to have to adjust to keep an eye on him, which will open up the downfield passing, and if they don't, well I'm fine with Barber eating them up in the flats.
There's not much to be happy about today, but I was very glad Romo was showing some good decision making, and maturity by utilizing Barber in the passing game, and even happier to see Barber capitalizing on his opportunities.
