I Wish Garrett had Challenged that Spot on Denver's Final Drive

I know hindsight is 20/20. But that was a huge blown spot that played into Denver's favor. There is no way that ball should have been spotted on the 11. When D. Thomas came down he ball landed right on the 10 yard line. What were these idiot refs looking at? Had Garrett challenged that spot we would have been certain to get the ball back either down 3 or 7 but we would have had a chance. I'm thinking it probably would have been down 3 because Denver would have chosen the certain 3 over the nearly certain 7.

The officiating these last two games has been some of the worst I've ever seen. I mean it is Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl bad. I'm starting to think that the NFL is a crooked as scoliosis.

Yeah, the NFL cheats against it's most popular team. Makes perfect sense.

You ever look at the other side of that coin? You should, it is 10 times larger.

Dallas has more haters then any other team in the nfl....by a factor of 10.

LOL, .. beat me to it.

Well put.

speaking of coin I'm sure the NFL wants Dallas to lose and miss the playoffs and the TV ratings that comes with them. Makes perfect sense.

The NFL has seemed to survive fine without the Cowboys in the playoffs, .. just fine for quite a while now.

This year Denver is it's favorite team. They will grease the skids to make sure Peyton gets to another Super Bowl.

I agree and why would we expect the officials to be immune to their own hatred of the Cowboys and Jerry Jones. They are human, and for sure their deep seeded emotion can factor into their decisions, especially on judgement calls. Lets face it, you could call offensive or defensive holding on every play in the NFL and use slow motion to verify the call.

He was down on about the 10 1/4 line. Not the 11 yard line for sure. When the next play starts, the ball is spotted on the 11.

you are taking about an orchestrated cover-up at the league office level which isn't necessary when refs have autonomy during the course of a game.

Yes. He should have thrown the challenge flag. Absolutely.

Of course, it would have resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the board would be on fire about how he didn't know the rules.

But yeah, that is what he needed to do.

That was a good spot. The one I questioned was on the first-down run by Moreno on the one-yard line. He looked short to me.

Hindsight, that is a great idea. Put that ball on the 5 1/2 yd line with no chance to get a first :)

Actually that would've been great for us, we get the ball back for sure.

dang, I never thought about it before, but that would've been brilliant if somebody on the coaching staff would've thought of it. I mean Garrett could've gotten an unsportmanlike on himself, or have somebody just shove a Denver player to the ground forcing a personal foul and auto-first down. Would've given us a much better chance of getting the ball back.

That is incredibly awesome. That was in fact the best strategy. If one of our players had just punched a Bronco in front of an official, problem solved. I wonder if the Broncos would've thought to decline the penalty. Actually, I don't even know if they could: can you decline a dead-ball penalty like that? You can't decline a false start...
