I wish Henson would get a chance to play

You really have to feel sorry for Henson right now, he had a great spring over in the NFL Europe leagues but with Bledsoe and Romo ready to rumble you just have to wonder where Henson fits in, if at all. I really had high hopes for Henson and still think he has enough talent to make it in this league. The problem however is that he's not likely going to be a member of this team much longer given Romo's medioric rise and Bledsoe looking more like 24 than 34.

I know he's the 3rd QB right now but don't anybody find it strange that he hasn't even gotten into game yet...even for a series? I didn't want to believe that Parcells was plotting and scheming against Henson but this preseason has convinced me otherwise. Even during the game they were talking about Baker and how Henson is fighting to stay on the roster. Wouldn't we take a big hit if we cut him lose?

I say at this point it's time for Jerrah to trust trade this kid so he gets a chance to show another team that isn't as loaded as us what he can do.

Thoughts?

I said the same thing earlier this summer. If we aren't going to give him a chance, then let somebody else have him. I really want to see him with the Cowboys first unit with the type of pass blocking that Bledsoe and Romo had tonight. That would give him a chance to show what he can do at this level. One good outing would do wonders for his confidence.

But wouldn't it be nice to see him for a few series?

I've been a big time Henson supporter from day one.

I have finally come to the realization that it's over with the Cowboys.

I still think he has a ton of talent and will make an impact somewhere...but it won't be with any team that has Parcells as the coach.

Unless you are holding open tryouts, there is no way that the 3rd string QB should take minutes away from the 1st and 2nd QB's time with the #1 offense in preseason. The coaching staff had a chance to watch Henson all spring. The last thing I think anyone on the team cares about is the confidence of the clipboard holder.

Henson will get time in the next two games... settle down. there's no question he's the 3rd QB. BP wants Romo to get 8 good quarters. He has 6 now. Now Bledsoe gets the first half of the last two games, Romo one quarter in each and that leaves 2 quarters for Henson. He'll get some time.

He played in the "NFL" Europe League.

And he played very well.

If that means something, we should make Gibran Hamdan our starting QB this season.

The starters traditionally play the most in the 3rd game, if there is time for Henson it will in the 3rd or 4th quarter of the last game.

Obviously the coaching staff has seen some things that make them doubt this kids ability. Seems to me that he will be a career backup at best at this point.

"Who's all in" means BP/JJ are all in for this year.

Get the guys who are going to see the field the most as many reps as possible.

If Bledsoe and Romo go down we'll have a certain QB of Italian heritage on speed dial so fast it will make your head spin.

Henson didn't play very well in NFLE.

He played ok.

I hope Henson does get some time and lights it up! I really think he would be doing as good as Romo right now, maybe even better. Parcells can't be all that smart if he don't see the raw talent Henson has.

I think Bledsoe will play the entire half of saturdays game and that's it for him until week 1. We should play Romo and Henson a quarter each the 2nd half, then let Henson get some major work against the vikings.

After the game in his PC, Parcells said Romo now has 6 qtr.'s in and he wants him to get 9 or 10 for the preseason so that might not leave much time if any for Henson the next 2 gms.

So it went from 8 as the number to 9 or 10? That means MAYBE a quarter for Henson in the fourth game.

Maybe Parcells is playing Romo for 8 quarters like he said he would. Henson isn't going anywhere.

Not too bad for having a bunch of 'walkons' for receivers.

Parcells is a shrewd talent evaluator, but he's intentionally holding Henson back...and this I'm sure of!

He didn't play in in 2004 when we were out of the playoff mix, he isn't playing him in preseason now despite him elevating his game in Europe...it just don't add up. We might have another gem on this roster, and if anything we could be showcasing him to a team that needs QB help.
