I wish Jerry would invite Romo over for a serious discussion regarding his time in Dallas

If Romo was honest with Jerry about Garrett, hopefully Jerry would see the error of his ways, and fire Garrett this year( possibly hire Romo ).

We can always dream! It’s that time of year. It’s all we have as Cowboys fans.

Given how much of our failure was also tied to things being explicitly done in the name of being more and more Romo-friendly (and giving Tony more freedom and more weapons to work with), I doubt Tony is the right guy to objectively explain to Jerry how it was that the Romo Era was wasted.

If Romo had that kind of clarity on the issue, he'd have used his considerable clout to prevent a lot of nonsense. But he was there grinning and nodding in approval at most of it.

He’s done that. The people who know obviously don’t share your assessment of Garrett.

When thinking about why things are done the way they are in Dallas, I ask myself “how does this help inflate Jerry Jones’ ego“?

Jerry Jones doesn't want to hear the truth...

I can see replacing Garrett, but with Romo?

To me. We are not winning a Super Bowl with Garrett. Maybe Garrett would surprise us. He does know X and O’s, a lot better than Garrett, in my opinion.

“The people that know”, not a lot of those in Dallas. Also the people that know in the NFL are wrong all the time. Brady was a 6 th round draft pick!

Jerry would never hire Romo for one reason: attention. Can you imagine how much of the spotlight Romo would command, even as OC? And if we won with him, then he would get all the credit. That's not winning "Jerry's way". It's his way with his puppets or no way.

Why would Romo want to be a HC at this point in his life ? He does not need the $$ CBS are giving him a pay rise, he gets to sped at leat 4 days at home during the season, he gets to spend Birthdays, Christmas, and most other Holidays at home, he gets to see his wife and kids. Why would he give all this up to spend around 90-100 hours per week coaching, hardly ever seeing his family, dealing with the all the stress, that goes with being a Head Coach, plus the fans venting their fury, and they will.

Why would he do this, at this point in his life ?

Wish more people got this that even fathom him even entering the coaching field. I don't think people realize the hours the staff puts in whether they are good or bad, it's the ultimate grind.

Exactly, he has good job, is well paid, and has time at home with his wife and kids, when they are older, perhaps if he has that itch, he will scratch it.

Romo escaped this circus. He is a great announcer. Even non-Cowboy fans think so. No reason for him to ever come back here.

Even if it was a model franchise, he has no need to come back.
